By comparison to the end-of-the-world predictions not much happened in Tampa last night, so local reporters were reduced to breathless coverage of trees harmlessly downed in vacant parking lots, pointing out how bad it COULD HAVE BEEN if there had been cars parked there.
One girl showed us how massive she estimated one tree was, by pointing out that "the trunk is three times as big as me and I'm 5'7"." That cracked us up.
The reality was that she could have put her arms around the tree and touched fingers.....not a big tree at all, but that's all she had to report on. So I guess that's good news for Tampa.
I wonder if she uses her "math" for all her measurements?
