I've seen worse looking tickets. This could very well be the pairing that kicks Obama to the curb in fifteen months. Romney would be more tolerable with tea-party Bachmann on the ticket.
If its Mitt, I think he'll need to bring in a VP who has foreign affairs experience. They're pretty together, and all, but I think a Condi Rice, or John Bolton might be a better choice for VP. IMHO
