I remember every Saturday afternoon watching ABC's Wide World of Sports as a kid. Jim McKay repeating the intro is probably one of the most recognized intro's in all of sports...."Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport! The thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat! The human drama of athletic competition! This is ABC's Wide World of Sports!"
That was a great show. You never knew what you would be watching each week: Formula 1 racing from Europe, downhill skiing from Scandinavia, soccer from South America, it didn't matter. Jim McKay doing the coverage made it interesting.
