“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Demi Moore, where have you gone?

Normally, I think the pregnant female body is attractive, I mean if the woman is attractive already. That said, I'm not sure what to make of this, I mean other than....eeeeeww!

These extraordinary new pictures show the world's first pregnant man—captured just four weeks from the birth of his baby girl.

First of all, this is not a dude. It is a chick who has been surgically modified to look like a dude. Regardless of her appearance, she still has two X chromosomes, a uterus, and ovaries, so it is not extraordinary for her to have gotten pregnant. That people want to see pictures of this freak-show of a couple....now that's extraordinary.

If you have eaten breakfast already and want to see all the pictures, click here and take a look.

Nanny-State incrementalism

LIttle by little, bureaucrats are taking control of every detail of our lives, all in the name of the imaginary menace of man-made global warming....

The Minneapolis City Council and Mayor R.T. Rybak approved changes Friday, to the city’s vehicle idling ordinance that aims to reduce air pollution. The ordinance limits most vehicle idling to three minutes, except in traffic.
"Most of the air pollution in Minneapolis comes from vehicles and cutting down in idling is one easy thing we can all do for our environment, our health, and the health of our neighbors," said Mayor R.T. Rybak.
Vehicle motors release particulate matter, dirt, nitrous oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide into the air. These chemicals are linked to increased rates of cancer, heart and lung disease and asthma and are the major source of human-caused climate change. Children are especially vulnerable to vehicle air pollution because their lungs are still developing, and they inhale more pounds of pollution per pound of body weight than adults do.

"In these times of high gas prices, it’s a way for people to save fuel. If you’re sitting in an idling car, you’re getting zero miles a gallon. That’s not good for your pocketbook or the environment," Rybak added.

This soulless bureaucrat invoked all the tried and true excuses for seizing control of our lives....pollution, fuel efficiency, and of course the children. How will this idling ordinance be enforced? No doubt he'll hire an army of green police to monitor fast-food drive-thrus for idling scofflaws, and raise taxes to pay for it. There is no part of your life politicians don't want control over. The sad thing is that weak-minded Americans will agree to it if it's in the name of environmentalism and children.

I've fallen, and I can't get up!

As you know, here at TRR we take great delight in poking fun of people who manage to kill or hurt themselves in ridiculous or stupid ways. We've mocked minorities, transgendered, Eurotrash, gays, feminists(especially feminists), midgets, you name it. Because you see, we couldn't care less what your group identity is, if we think you deserve mockery, we will mock you. So far, however, we have not ridiculed the handicapped....there are some lines even I won't cross.

Yeah, right!

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. —  A woman in a motorized wheelchair slammed into a hotel elevator, forcing the doors to open, and then fell about 30 feet down the shaft early Saturday, a city fire official said.

Boy, she seriously had a thing for that particular elevator cab. Why couldn't she just wait for the next one? And I'm guessing there aren't reverse gears on these scooters. I mean after you ram the doors hard enough to trigger the "open" mechanism, don't you have to drive it forward into the empty shaft? For the shaft to have been empty, the cab would have to have moved...obviously. On every elevator I've ever ridden, the doors are shut a good 2-3 seconds before the cab moves, and the doors were shut when she rammed them. That means that at least 4-5 seconds had elapsed prior to impact. Are we to believe that the doors were in the process of shutting when she hit them? I'm reasonably sure that all, ALL elevator doors have a safety such that they will not open unless the cab is stopped on the other side. That means she must have really hit those doors hard.

I swear, these disabled people have some sense of entitlement and privilege, ramming their expensive motorized scooters into everything. Why it's almost as if they want special treatment or something.

Jim McKay.....RIP

I remember every Saturday afternoon watching ABC's Wide World of Sports as a kid. Jim McKay repeating the intro is probably one of the most recognized intro's in all of sports....

"Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport! The thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat! The human drama of athletic competition! This is ABC's Wide World of Sports!"
That was a great show. You never knew what you would be watching each week: Formula 1 racing from Europe, downhill skiing from Scandinavia, soccer from South America, it didn't matter. Jim McKay doing the coverage made it interesting.

Living large...courtesy of your tax dollars

Do you ever stop and wonder what became of all those poor, helpless Katrina victims? Yeah, me neither. I'm too busy earning a living, paying taxes and bills, and raising a family. Well, here it is three years after Katrina and there are still sponges leftover from Katrina, sucking at the generous taxpayer teat. Who knew?

(BILOXI, MS) June 3 -- What are people who receive FEMA assistance doing to help themselves? Turns out, very little.

The scorching heat puts many at the Quality Inn poolside, but for Gwenester Malone, she chooses to beat the heat by setting her thermostat to sixty degrees. Malone's room for the past three months, along with three meals daily, have all been paid for by taxpayers.

"Do you work?" asked NBC 15's Andrea Ramey.

"No. I'm not working right now," said Malone.

Malone says she can't drive and it's too hot outside to find work within walking distance. "Since the storm, I haven't had any energy or pep to go get a job, but when push comes to shove, I will," said Malone.

Just a few blocks away, Kelley Christian also stays at a hotel for free. She says she's not taking advantage of her situation, but admits it's easy to do. "It's too easy. You know, once you're there, you don't have to pay rent," said Christian. "I kept putting it off and putting it off and now, I'm tired of putting it off."

Push came to shove for Christian when police found a meth lab in a hotel room directly below her.

Taxpayers also paid for that meth lab. The men police arrested were receiving FEMA assistance. The hotel owner says he'll now have to spend $5,000 to clean out the room.

As for Malone, she says she's not seeing any drug activity at her hotel. It's too nice she says. Why would she want to leave?

Why indeed, Gwenester, why indeed? Hanging with your peeps poolside, kickin' it in your 60degree, cable TV hotel room, and eating three free meals every day...all thanks to the generosity of us taxpayers. Probably the best three years of your miserable life.

Well, I have an idea why you might want to leave Gwenester: how about exhibiting some personal responsibility for your own life. Where is your shame for sponging off the hard work of other Americans for three years? If you had a shred of dignity, six weeks after Katrina, you'd have found a job or two...and a cheap apartment the week after that. If you had an ounce of self respect you'd have gotten back on your feet like most everybody else did within a month or two of the storm. How about showing some integrity and getting off the taxpayer dole for a change?

Americans are about hard work, self determination, and self reliance, not dependence, sloth, and degeneracy....at least most Americans are. I guess we know what kind of American you are.

The worst city in the world!

Unless you are a troll under a bridge somewhere, you've probably seen this disturbing clip from Hartford, Connecticut. In an interview yesterday from his cave in the remote mountains of Pakistan, Osama Bin-Laden was asked about this video clip. His shocked reply: "Even I, the worst person in the world, am horrified by the callousness of the infidels in Hartford, Connecticut. They are vermin! It is an abomination before Allah! I am shocked, shocked I tell you!"

How awful do you have to be to get called "vermin" by Osama Bin-Laden?

Seriously folks, if you are a citizen of Hartford, Connecticut, today you have to be embarrassed beyond belief. I cannot believe this happend in America. The people of that town are the most shameful, reprehensibly awful miscreants in all the world. You are degenerate, soulless scum for not helping that 85 year old man who lay dying in the middle of the street. I am ashamed of you. America is ashamed of you. Even a terrorist would help an old man who got hit by a car...but not you.

Detroit, Mogadishu, Beirut, D.C., all come to mind as places I'd rather be hit by a car than Hartford.

Good Grief!

Reader mail

Regular reader Kevin wrote in this week with a question regarding my post about our dreadful pubic education system in which I laid partial blame on the insidious teachers' union....

I have an offtopic question. What do labor unions do that actually benefit America?

There was a time in America, before the EEOC, labor law, and watch-dog groups, during which labor unions protected workers' rights to safe work environment, fair compensation, unfair dismissal, and negotiated for benefits like health care, severence, vacation, higher wages, etc. There are now ridiculous numbers of worker protections in place such that the unions are pretty much unnecessary. In fact, in the 70's when these laws were put in place, the union bosses resented their phasing out so they essentially became an organized crime group, hellbent on maintaining their grip on power over the companies. They forced the employees to join the union, then extorted protection money(the union bosses called them dues) from the workers. Anyone who didn't join the union had his house burned down.

Today, unions do little but force companies to maintain huge, unnecessary pools of workers who sit around and do nothing but collect huge checks. This keeps the union rolls well-populated and the dues coffers full of cash. Moreover, they force wages far higher than the labor market can bear, they insist on exorbitant severence and retirement packages for even the most uneducated, unskilled workers, and they enjoy excellent health-care benefits. Many American companies like GE, GM, FORD, Chrysler, and others are no longer primarily car and truck builders. They are first and foremost union-forced health-care and retirement providers for retired and unemployed former workers. And democrats complain when they go to Mexico or China to build cars.

It is a common myth in America that employer-provided health-care is a birthright. It is not! Labor is, or should be, subject to market forces just like any thing else. Health care is an incentive, just like vacation, higher salaries, and company cars, that employers sometimes dangle to entice the best workers to fill positions. There is no birthright to health-care, retirement, or high wages at somebody elses expense. All are subject to market competition, including labor.

Finally, you may wonder why labor unions are always, always aligned with the most liberal of democrats. It's because unions definitionally, work against companies. Democrats pretend to be the champions of the little guy against the evil rich. Naturally, unions want democrats in power because they know democrats will pass laws that support their insidious, anti-capitalist practices. Democrats like unions because union bosses contribute union dues to their campaigns and force members to vote democrat. Also, a dependent labor force is the democrats' wet dream for America, so of course they support any organization, no matter how corrupt, that can suppress and intimidate that many citizens into voting democrat.

Teachers' unions aren't quite that bad but, they do extort huge amounts of money from taxpayers that gets wasted on administrative boondoggles. The US spends more per student than almost any modern industrialized nation, yet we fall far below them in comparative testing and academic performance. The teachers' unions demand more and more money and then indoctrinate our kids about global warming, how evil America is, and the joys of sexual experimentation.

Unions and punitive taxation are the two biggest reasons by far, that many otherwise profitable companies leave the US to do business somewhere else. So to answer your question, in my opinion, labor unions do nothing that benefits America. They do far more harm and almost no good.

Celebrity trainwreck alert

We haven't poked fun of an impending celebrity trainwreck in a while here at TRR...Britney, Lindsay, and Paris wrecked long ago and are just too easy. What we like is for fresh newcomers to take a header off the celebrity high-wire for our amusement. Now, hot on the heels of her nudie pics in Vanity Fair, 15 year old Miley Cyrus has been dating a 22 year old back-up dancer. I realize here in the South, there's practically no age of consent....witness the trollop Jamie Lynn of the Spears hillbilly clan. That said, a twenty-two year old dude dating a 15 year old girl is kind of creepy, even for the South.

When I was 11 or 12, we used to go skating at the roller-rink, and we used to see these twenty-something drop-outs hanging out in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and cruising for chicks, chicks that were like 14 or 15. That's what this reminds me of. I mean the creep factor is off the scale.

What possible interest could this grown man have in a 15 year old adolescent? Don't answer. It was a rhetorical question. We all know the answer. And where's her supposedly caring, involved dad Billy Ray? I mean besides at the bank cashing more of her checks? If I was her dad, I'd phone the authorities to inform them to bring an ambulance when they came to arrest me for beating the crap out of him.

All this talk of age appropriatness suggests a good topic for another installment of the TRR poll.....

If you had a 15 year old daughter, would you let her date a 22 year old man?
Yes, if he promised me his intentions were honorable
No, and the authorities have a word for this arrangement....pedophilia
Who cares? Did you mention something in the post about nudie pics?

Cap-and-Trade.....an utter disaster!

If you are like me, you're probably looking for a good reason to vote for John McCain. Just that he's not Obama isn't good enough. I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. Well, here's another reason to NOT vote for him or Obama.......

The three rivals for the US presidency - John McCain, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton - all favour tougher climate change policies.
They include a cap on industrial carbon dioxide gases and an emissions trading system like that in the European Union.

That McCain stupidly buys the whole CO2-is-a-pollutant argument shows me that his gullibility pretty much disqualifies him for President. That he would institute a moronic cap-and-trade scheme terrifies me. Even if he's pretending to buy the CO2 charade just to get elected, then he's guilty of dishonesty at best, and he remains unqualified in my book.

Cap-and-Trade for those of you who get your news from Entertainment Tonight, is an insidious scheme by which the government controls how business are run. Based on idiotic computer models that nutty environmentalists designed, industries are told how much CO2 they can release as part of doing business. If the factory needs to produce excess CO2, then they have to purchase "Carbon Credits" from businesses who are well under that level. So these "green" businesses get a huge windfall that they did nothing to earn, and guess who pays for it? We, the consumers. For every carbon credit a factory has to buy, the retail price of their product increases to cover it. Everywhere this scheme has been attempted, it's been rife with corruption, bureaucracy, and uselessness.

The more CO2 is in the atmosphere, the healthier our plant life is. For you public school graduates who were learning to put condoms on cucumbers instead of learning Biology, "plant life" is the primary source of food for humans. What's next? Will McCain issue carbon credits to individuals for the privilege of breathing? Will farmers have to buy carbon credits to offset their cows' burps?

While we distract ourselves with this silly carbon nonsense, Russia and China drill like crazy for petroleum to run their exploding economies. Soon we'll be left behind because our politicians like McCain and Obama are obedient slaves to the insanity that is CO2 hysteria.

I've used this quote before but it fits this CO2 situation....The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it. [H.L. Mencken]

If you need another reason to vote Libertarian this year, there are worse ones than J.Mac's craven cap-and-trade sham.

It's Ann Coulter Thursday!

This week Ann predictably, mocks the democrats and the MSM for pooh-poohing Hillary's insistence that her popular-vote majority over Obama counts for something. In 2000, the democrats had hissy fits over Al Gore's popular vote margin over Bush. Funny how when the constitutionally defined method for electing presidents, the electoral college, helps their favorite candidate, liberals in the media love it, but if it hurts their guy(Al Gore in 2000) they want an amendment to the Constitution to elect by popular vote.

Stupid hyprocritical democrats...I swear!
