“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

UN rewards Palestinians' terror tactics

Earlier this week the dreadful collection of despotic thugs and criminals known collectively as the United Nations rewarded the tantrum-prone Palestinian terrorists with official recognition, the first big step toward statehood. The Palestinians have never acted collectively, except when slaughtering Israeli civilians, even when Arafat was in control. There have always been factions and as such, any constructed "Palestinian Government", attempting to represent the interests of the whole, would be unable to negotiate or deal in any responsible way with other nations. This is one big reason why they are in no position to be a nation-state.

What kind of malignant organization rewards nomadic, but well-armed cowards with official recognition for killing the women and children of their neighbor, even as they continue to do it? Israel leaves the Palestinian people alone until Iran arms them and encourages them to attack Israel civilian centers for the umpteenth time. Even Obama recognizes that Israel has the right to put a stop to the rocket attacks.

No matter what we do or how much money we give, the craven criminals at the UN will always hate the US and Israel....no matter what. Yet we continue to happily fund their corruption and hatred of us.

Your 401(k)'s are now on the revenue table

If you are one of 60million Americans who contribute through your employer to a 401(k) type retirement account, then you have a lot to worry about. Grasping politicians in Washington are eyeing your account as a source of revenue for them to spend on vote-buying schemes.

Obama has already proposed lowering the amount you can contribute tax-free, but other insatiable politicians are looking for ways of nationalizing all that money into one huge social security-type account in exchange for the promise of a small check from them when you retire. Gone are the days where hard work, discipline, education, sacrifice, and self-reliance led to relative comfort in retirement, as well as the preposterous idea that you own what you've earned and nobody can take it from you. In their place are only immediate gratification, carelessness, and self-indulgence knowing that the government will provide for your every need in your old age.....at some other person's expense.

I'm thinking of taking all retirement money out of my accounts and keeping it in an off-shore account or maybe a shoe box under my bed....somewhere that the government cannot get to it.

While America sinks, Obama spends $4M of our money in Hawaii

If I could take a 20-day vacation somewhere, I'd like to go to Hawaii. And especially if the whole thing was better than 5-star quality and other people were paying for it all.

Well, as the nation struggles with unemployment, inflation, punitive taxation, looming budget cuts, and economic disaster right around the corner, our President and his entitled, big-spending wife will enjoy a 20-day Hawaiian vacation, entirely at taxpayer expense. While most Americans struggle to decide whether to buy their kids toys for Christmas or re-stock the pantry, the Obama's will live like kings for three weeks by extorting $4,000,000 from taxpayers to pay for it.

So the rest of us can enjoy their tropical odyssey vicariously as we dial our thermostats down a little more to save money, the entire white house press corps are being generously housed at a nearby $290/night hotel. But hey, Obama won the election and as the king of America, he and his fabulous fam deserve to live it up at our expense, right?

The usurpation of private property rights

The arbitrary intrusion of self-important government bureaucrats into the private lives of citizens and their property rights is approaching the abhorrent in this country. When government can pass laws that severely restrict what you do on your own property, just to assert their right to do so, then do we really have private property rights?

Fortunately, American property owners are creative and can figure out ways around the petty tyrants in most  local government offices.

Burger flippers demand more pay than they're worth

This is what the entitlement mentality has come to. People who're either too stupid or too lazy to get better jobs than at a fast-food joint, demand to be paid twice the minimum wage.....

From MyFoxNY -- A large group gathered outside a McDonald's on Madison and 40th St. in Manhattan demanding higher wages and the approval of a workers union.

"They're giving us $7.25 an hour, so many of my co-workers are living on food stamps. You can't live on that in this city," a protester told Good Day NY.

The workers who say they don't make enough to put food on the table for their families would like an increase in their hourly pay to $15.

First, the whole notion of a minimum-wage law dictated by the nanny-state is harmful to the free market where labor should be purchased at what ever price the market will bear.
Second, why is anybody attempting to support entire families on minimum wage? If you cannot afford the kids, don't have them.
Third, minimum-wage jobs exist as entry level positions for teenagers, not bread winners of entire families.

The unions would love to organize fast-food workers and coerce absurd wages from them, but there would be far fewer jobs and nobody could afford to eat fast food anymore.

Angus T. Jones ends career in 3....2....1.....

Angus T. Jones, Jake on Two and a Half Men, apparently has joined a spin-off church, loosely associated with the Seventh Day Adventists and had this to say about the golden goose that pays him $350,000 per episode....

I wonder how much money this "church" had him "donate" in order to be a member. I hope his family saved his money for him, he's gonna need it. But they've probably spent it all and like most Hollywood parents, think the money will keep flowing indefinitely as they live off their kids.

Just to be clear, I respect his right to voice his views regarding the sordid, depraved nature of that show, but if he wants to take a religious-based moral stand against it, he should put his money where his mouth is and quit before lecturing the rest of us not to watch.

"Pulling out" doesn't mean pulling out....militarily speaking

Military decision makers at the Pentagon are suggesting that when we finally pull our 67,000 combat troops out of Afghanistan in 2014, that we leave 10,000 to "continue counter-terrorism operations".

How does leaving 10,000 Americans in Afghanistan to run around being targets, count as "pulling out"? If we're leaving Afghanistan to its own devices, then leave....completely.

We currently have around 325,000 troops uselessly stationed in permanent bases in 135 countries around the world....most of them unwelcome I would imagine. Other than a jobs program for the Pentagon, what's the point?

DHS....every bit as incompetent as expected

After 9/11 the Department of Homeland Security was established and part of its mission is to take the lead along with FEMA during national disasters such as after hurricanes Katrina and Sandy. To address the inter-agency communication issues that were evident during Katrina, DHS spent $430million on special radios with a special secure channel for disaster-related communications.

In the aftermath of hurricane Sandy, apparently the radios weren't used so the Inspector General's office did an audit and of the 479 agency employees in possession of a radio, only 1 knew how to access the secure channel and only 25% even knew how to use the radio at all.

What a colossal waste of taxpayer money! The miserably incompetent Janet Napolitano should resign for a myriad of reasons but you can add this one to the list. As any bureaucracy gets bigger and more powerful, you expect the level of waste to increase somewhat, but this sort of thing is criminal in my mind.

'Ashura.....inviting ridicule of Islam since 680 A.D.

No this is not a screen cap. from Assassin's Creed 3. These are actual nutty Muslims celebrating 'Ashura.

In the year 680 A.D., an event happened that was a turning point for what was to become the Shi'a Muslim community. Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, was brutally murdered during a battle against the ruling Caliph -- on the 10th day of Muharram ('Ashura).

The actual day of remembrance was yesterday on the 25th, but given that it's part of the practice of the barbaric cult of Islam, I deemed it to be mock-worthy any day of the year. How self-flagellation counts as a reverent observance of anything is any body's guess, but then the Muslim culture isn't known for having evolved beyond savagery and idiocy.

Indians should be embarrassed by casinos, not Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret hosts an annual fashion show in which lithe beauties show off the latest in lingerie, tastefully accessorized by various costumes such as this Native American head-dress.

Well, apparently at least one self-styled representative of Indian sensibilities felt it was insulting and said that it was equivalent to "spitting on Native American heritage" for them to use such a head-dress.

First, VS wasn't using it in a mocking or offensive way. If anything it was reverent and complimentary.

And second, what's more insulting to Indians, a beautiful woman accessorizing her outfit with an Indian head-dress or that the entire world now associated Native Americans with gambling, alcoholism, and indebtedness because of casinos? Does senior citizens on oxygen tanks and limited incomes pissing away their life savings at smokey, unvacuumed casinos paint a flattering image of proud, Native American culture?

How about getting people drunk on cheap, watered down drinks so they'll make poor decisions with their money in their establishments? Given the storied history of Indians and pathological alcoholism, one would think they'd be a tad sensitive about using booze to take advantage of people.

But this is how historically oppressed groups think. We are victims so anything we do, no matter how hypocritical or ridiculous, is not questionable by anybody.
