“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

It blows to be white and male these days.....

OTTAWA -- The Carleton University Students' Association has voted to drop a cystic fibrosis charity as the beneficiary of its annual Shinearama fundraiser, supporting a motion that argued the disease is not "inclusive" enough.
Cystic fibrosis "has been recently revealed to only affect white people, and primarily men" said the motion read Monday night to student councillors, who voted almost unanimously in favour of it
.

I had a friend in high-school who died from CF.....a girl.

I guess this is the predictable end result of political correctness, liberalism, and identity politics in the modern world. If you are white and male, you are basically targeted for extermination by the elite ruling class, as being literally unworthy of saving.

I think I'll stop at CVS on the way home tonight and go ahead and grab that jar of vitamins I've been meaning to get. I wouldn't want to get sick any time soon. I'd probably be denied care because a more deserving minority needed it.

Survival of the fittest applies to businesses too

I found this exerpt from an article by Peter Klein, linked over on RightThinking. It sums up exactly why the big three auto companies do not need a bailout, care of the American taxpayer.....

The proposed bailout of GM, Ford, and Chrysler overlooks an important fact. The US has one of the most vibrant, dynamic, and efficient automobile industries in the world. It produces several million cars, trucks, and SUVs per year, employing (in 2006) 402,800 Americans at an average salary of $63,358. That’s vehicle assembly alone; the rest of the supply chain employs even more people and generates more income. It’s an industry to be proud of. Its products are among the best in the world.

Their names are Toyota, Honda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru.

Precisely! The big three have the same invincible, entitlement mindset about selling cars as Obama voters do about getting a government check. They believe they are entitled to car-selling success. They keep making cars that nobody wants, at prices nobody can afford, for labor costs nobody should be earning...yet they whine that they can't be competitive. Please!

And don't try to tell me how the supply lines, parts industry, and service industries will suffer if the big three go belly-up. All those other car companies will swoop in and fill the void in a heartbeat. And if those support businesses are smart, they'll prepare to support cars other than the big three....just in case. If they aren't smart, they'll fail the same as the car companies do....and they'll deserve to fail for stubbornly insisting on being static in a shifting, dynamic car market.

J P Hayes for President !!!

I know it is too late to endorse a candidate for this year, but I finally have found a decent honorable guy. Let me cover his qualifications:

American born and bread.
Foreign Relations: Has dealt amiably with all non-Americans on the PGA Tour.
National Defense: Can hit a 6 iron 230 yards with a slight puppy-cut to a dead pin position. Firing a dart with 20,00 fans silently staring is great training to fire a missile if need be.
Economy: He stands on his record, to be described below:

J.P. was fighting for his life last week in the PGA Tour qualifying school. He had completed round 1 in the middle of the pack, and had signed his card. Back in hotel room that night he noticed a prototype ball that Titleist had given him the week earlier. He contacted the tournament office noted its presence in the bag and assessed himself a 2 shot penalty. His 72 became a 74. He moved forward to play round 2. After finishing round 2, Hayes and his caddy were going through the bag looking for something when he found another of the prototype balls. Hayes asked his "loop" about the ball, and was shocked to find that the caddy had used it in their play twice that day. Hayes could have remained silent and gone about his business, but the man couldn't live with himself even if he thought he had cheated the game. He called the penalty on himself again, thus resulting in his disqualification from Q-School. There went his chance to earn a living in his chosen profession next year. He is back to begging for sponsor exemptions and Monday qualifiers for a chance to earn his living.

Did he make some mistakes - Yes!
Did he asked to be bailed out - No!!
He took his medicine in a manner befitting a man of intestinal fortitude and a man of high character. Bully for you JP. You are now on my list of admirable men. I wish we had more people like you and less low rent cheating scum. Good Luck in the future.

Civics test

Alright TRR readers, when you weren't having your self-esteem stroked or giggling through sex-ed in dreadful government schools, let's see what you absorbed in Civics and Government class...if they offered one. Go on over to American Civil Literacy and take the test.

I scored 78.8%. Embarassing I know, but it was better than the overall American average - 49%. And it was way better than the average scored by elected officials. They scored a pathetic 44%.

Hint: even if the answer isn't immediately obvious, if you think about the possibilities, you can deduce the correct answer in most cases. Report your score, as always, in the comments thread.

Sunday night music

TRR readers, there's an up-and-coming band from my home state of Georgia called the Zack Brown Band. If you haven't heard their hit single Chicken Fried, you might want to consider getting a life and expanding your musical horizons. Their album The Foundation, just got released a day or two ago. Here's the Chicken Fried video.....

If you want to know more, check out their website.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the dude on the far left of the homepage, Chris Fryar the drummer, is my wife's brother.

Hope-n-Change or same ol' same ol'?

No wonder the far-left Obamacons are pee-oed...the Hope-n-Change mantra that gullible democrat voters swallowed hook, line, and sinker has been abandoned by The One. And it's been replaced with same-ol', same-ol'.

So far The Messiah has filled his cabinet and top posts with career, DC lobbyists and assorted insiders, plus every Clinton retread still standing around.

Rahm Emanuel(Clinton retread)- Chief of Staff
Hillary (Clinton retreat)- State

To that add the possibility of Tom Daschle and his lobbyist wife returning plus a host of other old timers and Clinton retreads and basically you've got a business as usual administration. So much for Hope-n-Change.

Jump the fence, get eaten by a bear

I never tire of these stories....

BEIJING (AP) - A college student in southern China was bitten by a panda after he broke into the bear's enclosure hoping to get a hug, state media and a park employee said Saturday.

Does it occur to no one, pandas are wild, carnivorous bears with big teeth, just like grizzlies and polar bears? How stupid....and hilarious!

Typical, mindless Obama voters

If you want to see something both pitiful and absurd at the same time, watch this interview of a dozen or so strident Obama voters as they are asked simple questions about how informed they are as voters.....

See, all you need is a slick presentation, a lot of money, and a legion of absolutely, stupid beyond belief idiots to come out and vote for you, and you too can be President. If our media hadn't completely abdicated it's watchdog responsiblity, and instead reported the truth like it's supposed to, this election surely would have come out differently. But then again, in America there are millions of retarded degenerates, graduates of public schools, who haven't had a cogent thought their entire lives, and for whom a Soviet-style nanny-State that provides for their every need is a utopian ideal. And with Obama, they just might get it.

Privacy for me, but not for thee

From Michelle over at Hotair, there's still more evidence of the hypocrisy of democrats when it comes to voting privacy....

Henry Waxman succeeded in torpedoing John Dingell for his chair on the Energy and Commerce Committee for the 111th Congress. Waxman beat Dingell in a caucus vote by only 15 votes. Who voted for Waxman? Unlike in American workplaces if Waxman and his allies get their way, you’ll never know:

This is the second time this week that the Democrats have cast secret ballots in order to decide an issue, the first being the Leiberman vote.

One of the first orders of business for the Obama administration will be to payback the thug labor unions for their election support by passing the CardCheck bill which will effectively eliminate the private ballot when voting whether to unionize a workplace. Democrats like Waxman don't want anybody knowing how they voted but, they sure don't want you to enjoy the same luxury.

Al needs to pull his head out and act like he's got a clue

Al Gore is running around in a panic for several reasons: 1-with the economy in a mess, nobody gives a crap about the environment any more. 2-global warming is a proven hoax and therefor 3-his livelyhood is threatened because he can no longer profit by scaring everybody into living like third-world bedouins to save the planet.

This is the "study" he has resorted to citing to try to panic everybody once again.....

A new study suggests the Mayan civilization might have collapsed due to environmental disasters:

"'These models suggest that as ecosystems were destroyed by mismanagement or were transformed by global climatic shifts, the depletion of agricultural and wild foods eventually contributed to the failure of the Maya sociopolitical system,' writes environmental archaeologist Kitty Emery of the Florida Museum of Natural History in the current Human Ecology journal."

As we move towards solving the climate crisis, we need to remember the consequences to civilizations that refused to take environmental concerns seriously.

Environmental disasters killed the Mayans? There were no coal plants, no SUV's, no internal combustion of any kind. So what was the nature of the environmental disaster? Could it have been that the Mayan civilization simply ran it's course....sort of like global warming hysteria?

This accurately depicts Al Gore these days....and pretty much all days for that matter.
