“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Food stamp claim gets denied, claimant goes on rampage

In Butte, Montana a 47 year old woman what charged with battery or something for attacking a welfare office worker with her purse, for not denying her food stamp claim.

Clearly the real news in this story is that in Obama's America, somebody was actually denied food stamps. No word on if the iPhone-6 she probably owns was in the purse to make it heavier.

In case you didn't get a good visual from my description, here's a helpful picture of what an angry women whose food-stamp claim has just been denied, might look like.

Mark Kelly, accomplished astronaut, devoted husband, embarrassing political gadfly

Once again gadfly Mark Kelly and his addled wife, Gabby Giffords, are agitating for relevance and money by injecting themselves into a congressional race. Their superPAC, Americans for Responsible Solutions, ran an add opposing the republican candidate Martha McSally, saying, "Martha McSally opposes making it harder for stalkers to get a gun."

As embarrassing as it is for a US astronaut to end his career as a political gadfly and dingleberry, it's worse still to unfairly attack a political opponent with what amounts to slander. What a horrible person!

Here you can see Mark Kelly coaching Gabby on her recent conversion from gun enthusiast to anti-gun crusader.

Today it's thought crime, tomorrow will it be pre-crime?

In a recent YouGov poll, 54% of self-identified republicans said they supported increasing the penalties for hate crimes, i.e. thought crimes.
So even so-called conservatives think that if you bash a guys head in with a bat and you were thinking politically incorrect thoughts while doing it, you're more guilty and deserve harsher punishment than if you bashed his head in merely for fun, robbery, or a mob hit, but had politically "pure" thoughts while doing it?
I'd sure like to hear a cogent defense of that if anybody has one.
The criminalization of thought my friends, is a dangerous path to tread.

Can you tell what he's thinking?

Obama's economic improvement fallacy

The economy supposedly added 284,000 jobs in September dropping the "unemployment" rate by another 0.1%, a number Obama will no doubt crow about in fundraising speeches this week. But 315,000 people threw up their hands and stopped looking for work in September also, further plunging the depths of non-work labor participation to 40 year lows.

Only Obama can spin that many people abandoning the search for work in favor of welfare and perpetual unemployment, as a win for the economy and his wise stewardship of it.

US government responds swiftly to the threat of Ebola.......with fliers

The first cases of Ebola here in the US surprised authorities, I sure am glad our capable government is on top of the situation and will keep us safe.

What are they doing to keep us safe you ask? Why handing out fliers to diseased travelers from western Africa of course. Border and Customs agents will be handing out pamphlets to let arrivals from western Africa what symptoms to be aware of and who to call in the case of a break out.

No need to stop diseased colonists from entering the country, just make them well informed of their virulence. I know I feel better now, how about you?

In addition to manning the "Arrivals" concourses at the airports, agents will be installing pamphlet kiosks every 1 mile along the southern border so that the teeming, third-world peasants who're streaming across will be well informed of the various deadly diseases they're bringing into our country.

"Ed's Book Review"

It's time for another informational edition of Ed's Book Review. When you've read all the classics and you're bored from the tired predictablity on the best-seller lists, expand your mind a little and read what I'm reading......
So I downloaded to my phone from the Overdrive website, an audio copy of "Feed" by MT Anderson that I found in the young-adult part of the sci-fi section of the online library. (I didn't realize the irony of that until I got part way through the book.)
It's about a future where everybody is connected to the Internet and everybody else, via a neural implant called the Feed, removing the need for computers, cell phones, books, TV's, radios, or any other connectivity or informational devices or media. It's very Orwellian in that the Feed "learns" about you based on your mental habits. The question then becomes, do we control the Feed or does it control us? The idea of an omniscient, paternal Web is disturbingly similar to present reality when you consider that in one generation we've become wholly dependent on the Internet for an ever-increasing proportion of our daily lives.
It's kind of a chilling look at what our near future might look like, but from the sardonic, always humorously cynical, view point of the teenagers. I recommend the audio book because between each chapter are what Feed commercials might sound like as they are streamed into your brain, tailored just for you.

Ebola arrives in US, CDC shrugs it off

Well the first case of Ebola has hit the US and a second is suspected, but not to worry, the director of the CDC declares confidently that they have it under control. I guess that's why the same CDC is issuing handling procedures for the inevitable flood of Ebola-infected cadavers coming soon to funeral homes across the nation....you know, because they have it under control.
The good news is that the rich, multicultural tapestry that is the fabric of America continues to be enriched through the deliberate importation of the dregs from Earth's hell-holes without regard to race, religion, terror-organization affiliation, or deadly disease condition.
I know I feel good about that.

Pole and Line tuna fishing

This is Pole and Line tuna fishing off a boat flagged from Ghana. It is more efficient than using nets and employs more people. Here's how it works:

A boat goes out ahead and chums the water with food preferred by the tuna, creating a feeding frenzy. Then the fishing trawler comes behind and all these guys using poles with non-barbed, spherical lures that are of a specific size.....small enough to be partially swallowed by the tuna but large enough that only tuna of a certain size can get the lure in their mouths. Then they just fling the tuna onto the boat deck.

Best of all, no sharks, marlins, dolphins, sea turtles, or any aquatic life other than tuna are caught. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Michelle's staff bullied submissive reporterette

A reporter covering Michelle Obama's speech up in Milwaukee reported on her Facebook page that she, "was told by a Mary Burke aide and one for the White House that I could not speak to the people in the crowd.
Kissinger also noted that she and her fellow reporters were cordoned off in their own section and not allowed to mix with the public who attended the event to see the first lady."
Wait a minute, why did the reporters obey some white house toadie who doesn't want them talking to the attendees of the speech? They can talk to whomever they like. Why would intrepid reporters let themselves be treated like this? Politicians, their staff, and even their wives will bully you if you let them. What can they do, have you arrested for talking to somebody?
If they were obedient and let themselves be cordoned off, it's their own fault. Idiots!

Obama told us whose side he was on, and we voted for him anyway

The justice dept. announced today, NEW broad restrictions on ethnic and religious profiling in investigations, specifically including those of national security...i.e. terrorism. Not profiling Muslims in terrorism investigations is like not profiling pit-bulls in pit-bull attack investigations.

It's as if Obama is openly inviting the terrorists to come here and kill us.

But then as the picture indicates, even a cursory glance at his ridiculous book, inspired by the America-hating man he claims is his father, would have given us ample warning this was coming.

If you aren't armed yet, you'd better get armed....the "workplace beheadings" are likely to start in earnest soon.
