Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out

Here's the latest idea from the Obama administration to minimize civilian casualties in war zones....try not to choke on your gum when you start laughing.....

From Washington Examiner -- A proposal to grant medals for "courageous restraint" to troops in Afghanistan who avoid deadly force at a risk to themselves has generated concern among U.S. soldiers and experts who worry it could embolden enemy fighters and confuse friendly forces.

"Courageous restraint" is code for cowardice and indecision...which is precisely how our liberal overlords who were raised in the hazy dope parties of the sixties see our military men and women.

Soldiers have only two responsibilities....kill as many people as possible and then break all their stuff. You can't ask a soldier to not shoot when he feels threatened, even if the threat may be civilian. In case you've forgotten, the dirty, middle-east barbarians we're fighting deliberately dress as civilians to confuse our soldiers and get them to hesitate for a split second. I'd rather a soldier err on the side of preserving his own life and then apologize for collateral damage than hesitate and get killed himself.

I swear, this has to rank in the top 5 worst ideas I've ever heard. A medal for not fighting.....please!

Inviting foxes to guard the hen house

Regular reader Billy sent this outrageous story to me as a forward from another regular reader. Ordinarily I would have called BS on this because it's so unbelievable to think a President and Secretary would consider such idiocy but Snopes says it's true so I'm going with it......

If this doesn't suggest, if not prove, that Obama prefers to coddle Muslims over securing our nation, I don't know what does. The main-stream media probably didn't even run this story. If you learn of it, it'll come from Beck or other FoxNews source. Do you see Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, China, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, or any other country who is hostile to the US appoint people who may support the US to security posts? No, you don't!

We are in a fight for our lives with radicalized Muslims. In what bizarro world does it make sense to invite people with similar beliefs to help in this fight? Only if you assume Obama has deep-seeded Islamic sympathies and open hostility to America does it make any sense at all....yet we allowed the lap-dog media to install him into the Presidency. How stupid are we as a country?

Much ado about nothing

I don't know about you but I'm a little tired of the Erin Anderews saga. So she got peeped on. She didn't get raped, the guy is rightfully in prison, and it didn't hurt her career any. So now, since a guy peeped on her and video-taped it, nobody can say anything critical about her without being accused of being insensitive to her victim hood and the larger victim hood of all women? Here is Elizabeth Hasselbeck's joke on the impossible to watch show The View regarding Erin Andrews' appearance on Dancing.....

She also made comments about Andrews' convicted stalker, who was recently given a 30-month prison sentence.

She said: 'If I'm him, I'm like: 'Man, I just could have waited 12 weeks and seen this little bit less without the prison time.''

What is so bad about that? She's right. The extraordinarily revealing outfits they make the women wear are the only reason that show's as popular as it is. Only the female half of the audience gives a crap about the dancing....and half of those tune in to see the firm buttocks of the men in ridiculously tight, thin slacks. Seriously, they could name the show, "Playing horseshoes with the Stars" and as long as the women are dressed as hookers and the men in tight slacks, ratings will be high.

Are we so sensitive as a culture that we can't make harmless jokes about people anymore? Well, count me out of that. I'll continue to poke fun of and criticize others anytime I feel like it.

Police say the basketball star was really Guerdwich Montimere, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Haiti who school officials say was recognized last month by Florida coaches as having been a star high school player in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., a few years ago.

22 years old....heh heh, maybe he got left back for like 6 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of shenanigan took place all over the country. There's almost as much pressure to be successful at the premier high-school level as there is at the collegiate level.

The creep of the imperial nanny-State

Not satisfied with their attempts to control salt content, fat content, school-provided meals, etc., now the Obama administration thinks it should also control all food advertisements to make sure unhealthy foods aren't peddled to children.

If advertisers don't voluntarily self-regulate their campaigns, the administration task force suggests, then the FCC should step in and regulate it for them. The Obama's have assumed the role of national proxy-parents because in their estimation, we're all too incompetent to know how to feed our own kids. This is textbook Obama. Define a crisis, in this case childhood obesity, then threaten to take over control if companies don't voluntarily police themselves, knowing that regardless of what measures the companies take, it won't be enough.

The pernicious creep of the nanny-State is slowly but surely destroying what little freedoms are left in the US.

One of the main reasons John McCain is in trouble is his position on illegal immigration. He routinely sides with the amnesty crowd and has refused to take a lead in demanding that the border fence be completed.....until now. It just happens that illegal immigration is front and center in the upcoming November elections and McCain is in the fight for his political life against challenger J.D. Hayworth...a closed-borders-now guy. Because he wants to keep his cush job, McCain is pandering in direct opposition to his previous positions on illegal aliens. I'm guessing that particular irony is entirely lost on him.

Sorry J.Mac, the time of the old-guard republican careerist is over. We want new truly conservative blood to represent us and guys like you and Lindsay Graham, Bob Bennet and others have outlived your usefulness.

Fred Phelps and his inbred cult of followers visit Birmingham

Fred Phelps and his rag-tag band of inbred haters at the Westboro Baptist Church are supposed to come to Birmingham today to demonstrate at the funeral of fallen soldier, Thomas Rivers Jr.

The funeral procession is fairly long from the church to the cemetery and nobody knows where they'll be setting up shop along the route. If I could get off work, I'd head down there and throw rotten eggs at them.

I know what you're thinking. "But Ed, you'd just be lowering yourself to their level."

Who cares? Think of how satisfying it would be to nail one of those cretins right in the pie-hole with a well thrown egg?

Chalk another one up for terrorist-punching SEALs

Navy SEAL Matthew McCabe was found not guilty yesterday of punching a terrorist who was in their custody. A sniveling squid(slang for sailors) accused McCabe and two other SEAL's of punching the known terrorist in the mouth and stomach.

I spent a little time in the military and "rats" aren't exactly the most popular guys around. I imagine the guy who accused them will receive a few well-deserved punches in the mouth himself...he deserves it.
