“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

The natural disaster that got overlooked

The century flood that made a disaster area out of Nashville has an estimated damage cost of over a billion dollars and killed 19 people so far, yet had scant little coverage from the main stream media. Why is that?

I hate to be the one to point it out but, maybe it's because there are no minorities standing on top of their rental houses whining about the government response. Maybe it's because Tennesseans are taking care of each other and themselves and don't want the government swooping in the "help". Maybe it's because Nashville isn't full of indigent, welfare sponges that fit the media's narrative of "poor-people-get-unfairly-victimized-by-weather" on which they are so fond of reporting.

When self-sufficient, responsible Americans are struck by tragedy, it's not story to the media. Plus, if they made too much of a big deal about it, they might find themselves having to blame Obama the way they blamed Bush for Katrina....and they don't dare question The One.

Obama casually use the term "tea-baggers" as if he doesn't know what it means

Over at Hotair, Allahpundit reports on this quote from Obama.....[emphasis mine]

In Jonathan Alter’s “The Promise: President Obama, Year One,” President Obama is quoted in an interview saying that the unanimous vote of House Republicans vote against the stimulus bills “set the tenor for the whole year … That helped to create the tea-baggers and empowered that whole wing of the Republican Party to where it now controls the agenda for the Republicans.”

Nobody who pays even cursory attention to the news can claim they don't know what the vile, sexually explicit term "tea-bagging" means. And, it's the preferred, on-air term of derision used by the likes of retards Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews and baritoned, militant lesbian Rachael Maddow for tea-party activists.

When a President shows utter contempt and scorn for the half of America who disagree with his policies by using a disgusting, sexually charged term like "tea-baggers" for them, he demeans his office, embarrasses himself and shames the presidency, and shows what a contemptible amateur, wholly unworthy of his office, he really.

Go Ahead " Make My Day"

When will the lawsuits begin? I can already see the beginning of the line of lawyers lining up to resolve this "Gross and negligent use of force"! I assume that the picture shown here is depicting the soon-to-be new owner of the Phillies and a soon-to-be homeless man (the police officer).
What a gross miscarriage of justice this will be! Inevitable, but still way out of whack!
Now lets look at the situation. I will throw in a few comments here and there.

The teenager, using poor judgement, leaps the wall and parades around the outfield disrupting the ball game. Bad choice on his part, and he deserves the trespassing charge and the disorderly conduct charge. However I am not sure that the use of the taser was warranted. After watching the video a number of times it is apparent that none of the athletes were in danger from this boy. He was on the field less than 1 minute before the shot. He had eluded the security folks, but it appeared they were closing in. It did make for great video footage as he nose dived to a stop in the outfield grass. I wonder if this boy could have been detained in a short time frame without him being tased?
My next issue revolves around the use of Philadelphia police on the field. Why are they there. Shouldn't they be doing regular/normal police work at the stadium, leaving the game surface to hired security and stadium personnel? I attend many college and professional sporting events and have recently noticed the plethora of safety yellow clad security folks throughout the various venues. Where were these folks when this happened? I know that the police chief is questioning this use of his people and should the equipment have been used. I am with him in his questioning.
I also read today where a man was back on the field last night and was detained and booked without being tased. Where is the fairness there? What did the teenager do that the man didn't? I am just asking.....
These 2 folks are wrong and should be punished. They should go to jail. However I do not feel it is fair to the taxpayers for this kid to make the cash he will undoubtedly make from the soon to be filed frivolous lawsuit(s). I assume he will sue the police for excessive force (see the man the next night); he will sue the Phillies for not properly restraining him and will sue the individual police office for some ludicrous charge like racism or something. Oh well here we go!!

Lawyers swarm to Gulf like jackals to a carcas

This is a sad commentary on the self-serving litigiousness of American society, by a the CEO Hayward of BP regarding the certain flood of scam law-suits that are sure to be filed along with legitimate ones...

Mr Hayward reiterated a promise that BP “will honour all legitimate claims for business interruption”. Asked for examples of illegitimate claims, he said: “I could give you lots of examples. This is America — come on. We’re going to have lots of illegitimate claims. We all know that.”

Politicians, and especially democrat politicians, have been bought lock, stock, and barrel by the trial lawyers associations. That's why much needed tort reform is a distant dream for the US. Smarmy trial lawyers have been circling for years waiting for a chance to get their slimy hands on some big-oil money, just as they did with big-tobacco and currently do with big-pharma. But who really pays for these legalized thefts....the consumer. Sure, BP has some paying to do and I support legitimate them paying for legitimate losses but, there will be thousands of illegitimate attempts by lying citizens and lying attorneys to get a piece of the pie.

A loser pays system would solve much of this problem. As it is, there's no reason not to sue, I mean other than shame and dishonesty, because a loss costs the plaintiff nothing.

Two examples of what's wrong with America

Here's Mayor Bloomberg and the overpaid bimbo Katie Couric from CBS, seriously discussing the certain ID of the Times Square bomber as being anti-Obama, or in other words, a tea-party activist.....

See, the idiot half of Americans who think American Idol is riveting TV, that Keith Olberman is an actual journalist, and who voted for Obama, digest this crap every night and think they are getting hard news. The Obama administration and democrats in general wouldn't be able to get away with half of what they do if not for the despicable complicity of the media. We accept that all politicians are liars and cheats, but we expect the media to keep them more-or-less honest with fair-and-balanced reporting....then we voters will make them pay at the ballot box. But when the media abandon traditional journalism in favor of advocacy of one side over the other, where is the voting public supposed to get trustworthy information? If it weren't for Fox News and talk radio, this country would be entirely in the toilet. As it is, our ass is starting to get wet but there's still just a little hope of climbing out.

Contessa Brewer clearly didn't get hired for her brains

Here's air-headed MS-NBC bimbo Contessa Brewer bemoaning the fact that the Times Square bomber didn't fit her narrative of all tea-party activists being potential terrorists.....

With inane drivel like this being presented as serious commentary, it's no wonder MS-NBC's ratings are falling faster than the Braves' chances at the National League pennant.

The Goreacle expands his already huge carbon footprint

Al and Tipper Gore have announced the hypocritical purchase of their fourth, I said fourth, luxury home in California. *crickets chirping*

That's right, the media will dutifully ignore the gross hypocrisy of the Gores as they continue to lecture the rest of us about greening our light bulbs, cars, toilets, and tampons. Our putative overlords would have us live as quaint, third-world peasants, huddled in depressing, Soviet-style collectives, nibbling on organic carrots and drinking our own urine while they conspicuously consume vast amounts of resources, the access to which we are denied.

Elanor Clift is a silly dingbat

Privileged liberals like pundit and journalist Elanor Clift think illegal Mexican immigration is just peachy because apparently she loves tacos and burritos...

From Moonbattery -- "It's a happy invasion for most people in this country," Clift proclaimed. "[W]e love the diversity of food."

For liberals like Elanor, trading violent home invasions, kidnappings, MS-13 gang slayings, drug-related crime, depressed wages and property values, and bankrupt hospitals, emergency rooms, and social services, for inexpensive, tasty Tex-Mex food is perfectly reasonable. It's reasonable as long as all these horrible things befall others and don't encroach into her insulated, upper-crust life of wealth and privilege.

British sniper makes the enemy pay

This is why snipers are the most feared weapon of the enemy on the battlefield....

From NYPost -- A British sniper set a world sharpshooting record by taking out two Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan from more than a mile and a half away -- a distance so great, experts say the terrorists wouldn't have even heard the shots.

Craig Harrison killed the two insurgents from an astounding distance of 8,120 feet -- or 1.54 miles -- in Helmand Province last November firing an Accuracy International L11583 long-range rifle.

"The first round hit a machine-gunner in the stomach and killed him outright," said Harrison.
"The second insurgent grabbed the weapon and turned as my second shot hit him in the side. He went down, too," Harrison told the Sunday Times of London.

I don't care what your opinions are on guns or war or killing....I love reading stories about this stuff.

Obama fiddles while border violence escalates

Now, have you open-borders butt-munches had enough yet?

From Ktar.com -- PHOENIX - After a frantic hour-long desert search, authorities found a deputy wounded in a shootout Friday with suspected illegal immigrants apparently hauling bales of marijuana along a major smuggling corridor in southern Arizona.

The deputy was found with a superficial wound - a chunk of skin torn from just above his left kidney - after being shot with an AK-47 on Friday afternoon, Pinal County sheriff's Lt. Tamatha Villar said. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Casa Grande, about 40 miles south of Phoenix.

Villar said the deputy was doing smuggling interdiction work and found bales of marijuana in the desert. He then encountered five suspected illegal immigrants, two armed with rifles, and was shot.

If ranchers on the border getting murdered by aliens isn't enough, then perhaps illegals smuggling drugs with a willingness to shoot border agents with automatic rifles signifies an immigration emergency. What is it going to take to get the feds to take some action?

I'll answer my own question: it's going to take throwing the democrats out and replacing them with republicans who have the guts to close the border once and for all and for the individual states to pass laws like Arizona's, to force the illegals to self-deport. The democrats will never do anything to stem the tide of aliens because they want them to end up as 20-30million democrat voters at some point. Obama doesn't give a damn about murdered ranchers and police officers when a permanent democrat majority lording over a vast welfare state is within reach.
