“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Jeb Bush needs a shovel, but not for snow

The naivete, or craven calculus, of Jeb Bush showed this weekend when he said that his solution for controlling the borders and illegal immigration is for..... [paraphrased] "....state and federal officials to politely and compassionately ask them to leave." This is Jeb staking out the center by bamboozling democrats with terms like "compassionate" and "self deportation", while bamboozling republicans by pretending that he cares about the alien situation.

If you could get illegal aliens to leave by politely asking them to, they would have left already. Obviously he didn't mention closing the border because all democrats and the establishment GOP don't want that.

Here's Jeb indicating the depth of the BS he's shoveling toward the American people.

The US Senate makes a joke of itself

Yesterday the Senate voted 98-1 to affirm that the man-made global-warming hoax, was not a hoax, despite it not getting any warmer outside for almost 20 years. This was merely a statement vote and no action will be taken, for now, however, it does open the door for them to restrict our liberties and change our way of life if they decide it's for the best interests of the environment and us little people.

I didn't realize the Senate had so much scientific authority and omniscience. I eagerly await their affirmation of String Theory, the existence of dark matter, and which is better, original Oreo's or double stuffed.

Since they assume the authority to declare the global-warming hoax to not be a hoax, perhaps while they're at it, they can declare the preposterous, affirmative-action presidency of Barack Obama to not be a laughable farce.

When Al Gore heard the good news about his global-warming hoax, not being a hoax, his first Chakra released involuntarily.......and no hotel masseuses were molested this time.

I want to believe

Nerd post of the day:
So this is pretty cool, if true: British and Brazilian astronomers have hypothesized that there may be at least two more Earth-sized planets in our solar system. Based on calculations of the behavior of icy particles called "extreme trans-Neptune objects" floating around 200-250 AU from the Sun, there should be at least two objects with enough gravity to cause this unexplained behavior. (1 AU is the average distance from the Earth to the Sun, about 150 Million kilometers)
[As a spatial reference, Voyager 1, launched in 1977, has just left the Kuiper Belt which orbits at about 30-50 AU, near the orbit of Pluto and won't get to those possible planets for another 100 or so years.
Our solar system, or the sphere of space that is influenced by our Sun's light and gravity, ends in the neighborhood of the Oort Cloud which is at about 100,000 AU from the Sun. So these two "planets" if they exist are still fairly close in.]

Ruling on gay marriage in June, big windfall for republicans?

So GOP reps could be the second biggest winners if the Supreme Court rules favorably in June, on gay marriage. With socially conservative seniors dying off and libertarian-minded millenials coming of age, the nation moves leftward on most social issues, specifically gay marriage and pot legalization. Many GOP lawmakers though, are stuck in red-state districts where the voters are decidedly against gay marriage, therefor the craven candidates have to pretend to be against it as well, in order to get elected, but thereby alienating many young voters who then view them as anachronistic and homophobic.
A federal ruling that allows gay marriage means smarmy politicians don't have to take a stand at all and the issue will have been removed from local elections.....which will be a good thing in my opinion, because I'm tired of debating it with people who think gays being married is an insult to the sanctity of their 4th marriage.

Seeing the virgin Mary in french toast should earn me a straight jacket, not a book deal

So the kid who co-wrote with his father, "The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven" which chronicled his "death" while in a 2 month coma, ascent into Heaven, and his conversations with Jesus and even Satan, has recanted his claims and admitted that it was a total hoax.
No kidding.
I am constantly astounded by the whole "heaven tourism" genre of stories, books, and at least one movie, by kids who claim they've been to heaven and back. Ostensibly people believe their charades because they're innocent children incapable of guile.
Trust me, I made stuff up constantly at that age, but not for attention as these kids do, but just to stay out of trouble.
When I was in the second grade we lived in Tifton, Ga. My friend and I were very late coming home so we told his mom that a man had stopped his car, chased us down the alleys behind our houses, and we ran and hid until he left. Instead of being mad, she hugged us, gave us delicious snacks, and a short lecture about strangers. What we omitted from our harrowing tale of survival and pluck, was that he chased us because we pelted his car with crab-apples as he drove by. My point is that kids will make up all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons. It's up to the adults to discern reality from a ripping good yarn.
Getting back to the point, I'm not going to limit God as to how he tantalizes us, but bringing comatose kids up to heaven and then sending them back just doesn't make sense to me.....any more than do Catholics witnessing stigmata and images of Mary in their french toast. It all just seems highly implausible to me.

Does this make you want to convert to Christianity?

A race litmus test for Hollywood awards?

Al Sharpton's incessant bleating about diversity may finally backfire on him. The Oscar committee, whoever they are, don't give a rat's furry ass about his threats and extortion.
Blacks only make up 13% of the population (though if you go by politically correct TV and magazine advertising you'd swear it was at least half) it stands to reason that occasionally they don't get picked. Must a black person be included in everything that happens in America, by law?
From this point on, every nomination of a black person for any Hollywood award will be viewed skeptically as a token nomination and/or win just to keep Sharpton quiet. There won't officially be an asterisk by the nomination, but in the minds of viewers it'll be there. Sharpton's rabble-rousing will permanently taint the otherwise deserving nominations of black people who give amazing performances.

After Sharpton visits town with his emergency diversity club, I'm betting there will forever more be a litmus test for Hollywood awards in which a black person must be nominated in every category.

Et tu Pope Francis, et tu?

Yesterday Pope Francis gave his blessing to the concept of western dhimmitude to insane, violent Muslims. Though he paid lip service to the concepts of free speech and non-violence, he embarrassed himself and his church by squeaking this......
You cannot provoke, you cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. You can’t make a toy out of the religions of others.
Yes we can, and we will. Islam is the dark invention of a self-aggrandizing pedophile who knew that normal, thinking people would find it ridiculous, so he included in his demented Qur'anic scribblings that those who mock Islam should be slain.
Here's His Holy and Sacred be-hatted Imminence now, evidently he spotted an enraged Muslim in the crowd.

New Charlie Hebdo cover

So this is the new Charlie Hebdo cover that's going out tomorrow. Normally their circulation is about 50,000 but tomorrow they expect to sell 3 Million copies.
Most American media outlets refused to show this image out of quisling obeisance to Islam, but mostly out of shameful fear.
"Tout Est Pardonne" means All is Forgiven, but I'm not sure who is doing the forgiving here, the staff of CH who survived or Mohammad. I guess I don't get French humor. If you know, please explain.

Obama sides with the terrorists and against our allies

Obama was conspicuously absent from the Charlie Hebdo march in Paris yesterday, as was Biden, Kerry, and Eric Holder. The assumption in the media is that his message to the world is, "I just don't care about your workplace violence problems".

That's bad enough, but I think his message is louder and more disturbing than that.

Given these two past statements from him,

1: "I will stand with Islam should the political winds change directions" from The Audacity of Hope, and

2. "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." from a speech at the UN,

I believe that by his intentional absence, his message to our European allies clearly was, I will NOT stand with you against radical Islam, and by doing so he tacitly sanctioned the Paris shootings.

Islam's new recruiting poster

It's funny, because it's true.

Contrary to the reporting, President Obama did attend the rally in Paris yesterday.

Hat tip to my friend Bill for the pic.

The American media are gutless cowards

This pretty much sums up the groveling, dhimmi media in the US, only there's one network missing....FoxNews.
On the morning of the attack, Fox showed the cover of "Charlie Hebdo" that supposedly provoked the massacre, but has since, conspicuously not shown any images of Muhammad. And last night on Greta, she bravely stated that all media outlets should stand together in support of a free press and show the images, but then she didn't show a single image.....not so brave after all, eh Greta?
Even if our media outlets wouldn't have otherwise shown these cartoons, the massacre in Paris compels them to now publish the cartoons to prove that terrorism doesn't work and that the press cannot be intimidated by threats of violence. To NOT show the harmless cartoons is to grant the terrorists a complete victory and validate the cold-blooded murders.

If I can find it, I'm going to order this image on a T-shirt to show solidarity with the slain French journalists who dared mock the pederast of Islam.

We are all Charlie Hebdo, or we are all cowards.

UPDATE: Just received word my T-shirt was shipped....I'll be sporting it next week.

The pathetic cowardice of our quisling leaders

This article from Breitbart.com is an excellent reminder of how many abhorrent western leaders in recent times have validated the maniacal violence from the barbaric cult of Islam, by showing contempt for the cornerstones of any free republic, which are free speech and a free press.

It is this quisling gutlessness that emboldens the terrorists, and blood is on the hands of every leader on this list who cowered in the face of jihad.

There's got to be life out there

The Kepler space-based telescope has discovered at least 8 new exoplanets that are very Earth like. One of them is only 12% larger than Earth and orbits in the "habitable zone" of its star. Kepler-438b is most likely rocky and therefor the most Earthlike. Though it receives 40% more illumination, and would be warmer than Earth, its star is a red dwarf which is cooler than our sun and would give the planet a red sky.

Sadly it is 470 light years away(the Milky Way is 100,000 light years across) so even if we had a ship that could travel a modest 0.1c, it would take us 4,700 years to get there. Maybe we should be looking a little closer to home for Earth's twin.

Still, finding likely habitable worlds encourages, if not validates, my belief that the universe is teeming with life and civilizations. Not sure what that means in terms of theological existentialism and Christian orthodoxy, but I don't need all the answers to enjoy staring at the night sky in wonderment.

Where are the Crusades when you need them?

In the 1000's-1200's, when you wanted to get rid of dirty, bothersome, murderous Muslims, you staged a crusade. This is the only thing that will rid France today of the scourge of hostile Muslim welfare colonists.....the 8th Crusade, that is depending on whether you believe Frederick II's crusade was two distinct campaigns instead of one, then this would be the 9th Crusade, but the point of this post wasn't to wander into the deep weeds of historical minutiae.

What most sports interviews of coaches sound like

This cracked me up. From the eye-rolls I see from my wife when sports reporting is on TV, this is what I imagine she's hearing.....

.....ten hours of sports analysis. Hilarious!

France at a terror crossroads, will probably take a wrong turn

Paris joins the victims club of the religion of peace. Islamic gunmen attacked a small satirical magazine killing 12 and injuring others. This video is of them escaping. Apparently the gunmen got their feelings hurt when the magazine satirized Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the head of ISIS.

12 journalists dead and the question now is, how will Paris, and by extension all of Europe, respond?

My guess is they'll outlaw satirization of Islam in any form, apologize to the Islamic community, and promise to adopt more Muslim customs nationwide.

Huck is delusional if he thinks he can be President

This weekend, Mike Huckabee signed off from his Saturday night TV show on FNC, that probably nobody watches because it's tedious, hokey, and unwatchable, in order to explore running for President for like the 4th time. Really?

Huck's not going to get any financial support from big donors, not with RINO Jeb in the bunch. The field is already crammed with like 12 guys. Can you imagine the debates with that many guys on stage? Ridiculous!

And besides, the conservative base isn't going to support, at least not in any large numbers, a retread like Huck, and mainstream establishment money will go to Romney or Bush. Huck knows this and maybe he was bored with his TV show and this gives him a legitimate out.

Once again, government imposes a solution without a problem

Every new year brings new idiotic laws. In New York for instance, there's a new law that prohibits people from taking pictures with big cats. Apparently men like to include in their online dating profiles, big-cat pictures, a la Vlad Putin, to give the appearance of machismo and danger.
I'm thinking, isn't this a self-correcting problem? As soon as a few guys get mauled to death, much to my amusement, the rest will think twice before crawling into a tiger cage.
Give evolution a chance.
