“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Michelle Obama isn't one of us

Michelle Obama made an uncharacteristic foray into suburbia today by pretending to shop at Target. It seems that the Obamas' lavish and frequent vacations in Europe, Hawaii, and the Hamptons, while 10% of the American workforce is idle and the rest of us have seen our adjusted earnings decrease for the first time in decades, doesn't play well with regular Americans.

This is a cynical ploy to make the big-spending Michelle seem like an ordinary, struggling American....like she is one of us. The fawning media will fall for it, but nobody else will.

Hugo Chaves prepares for his one-way trip to hell

Ridiculous Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez was rushed to a hospital yesterday for kidney failure. He's already undergoing cancer treatment so I imagine his days are mercifully numbered.

Here's Hugo now, gazing off in the distance where no doubt he sees the grim reaper coming to throw his ass in hell, pronto.

Hilarious PETA ad outrageous humorless trolls

This is the new PETA(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) ad. Some people are whining about it being over the top, but is it?

Seriously? Who's offended by this? I would expect most people who'd been attacked by a shark would find this funny, I know I do.

Look, people can't claim to believe in free speech and then whine when somebody exercises it. Unless great white sharks can read billboards, this doesn't incite violence or harm to anybody, so I don't see the problem.

Iran will kick sand in our face and we'll do nothing

It seems Iran wants to flex its naval muscle such as it is, by parking several warships just off the US coast....

From CNN -- Iran plans to send ships near the Atlantic coast of the United States, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported Tuesday, quoting a commander.
"The Navy of the Iranian Army will have a powerful presence near the United States borders," read the headline of the story, in Farsi.

A couple of well-placed guided smart bombs should cure them of the desire to do this again. Wonder if Obama has the balls to show Iran who is still the boss of the world?

This would be the Iranian navy if our President were anything but an empty-suited, arugula-munching apologist.

Obama loses Colorado

Over at MichelleMalkin she posted this picture of the image given to reporters highlighting Obama's west-coast swing. Study it for a second. Do you see anything wrong with it?

If you read the names of the cities he's visiting, they're all in Washington, California, or Colorado.....yet Wyoming is highlighted not Colorado. Clearly Obama's team needs a US geography lesson, but then again we should give them a break since their leader thought there were 57 states during his '08 campaign....heh heh.

Seriously though, if Sarah Palin's or George Bush's team had made this mistake it would be held up for ridicule and scorn as proof of their stupidity and carelessness. But not Obama. His mistakes should never be pointed out....that would be racist.

Notebook paper accused of racism

We already heard from something called a "diversity consultant" named Anne O'Connor this week when she suggested that primary school kids be prevented from using white notebook paper because it might distress the black children in the class because it doesn't look like them and because it'll validate the inherent racism in all white kids. Never mind that white paper is used for two reasons: 1-it's cheaper than colored paper, and 2-you can more easily see what you've written or drawn if it's on a white background.

It gets nuttier. She had this to offer regarding what teachers should tell students about their favorite colors....

"Finally, staff should be prepared to be economical with the truth when asked by pupils what their favourite colour is and, in the interests of good race relations, answer “black” or “brown”.

By "economical with the truth", of course she means lie.

You'd think that black people would be outraged every time some stupid, guilty white do-gooder tries to help them along, because they clearly can't make it on their own, by making blacks seem weak, delicate, and incompetent. Does anybody truthfully think blacks are offended by the existence of white paper?

Soon this will be banned for being inherently racist. Wait, I'm 1/4 Chinese, that must mean that I'm offended by legal pads.

Is the AP racist or did Obama pander to his black audience, or both?

When Obama tried to rally the Congressional Black Caucus yesterday, he had a string of words from which he dropped the ending "g", for emphasis. He is like a chameleon. He can adopt the dialect of his audience in order to falsely endear himself to them. But when the AP released a transcript of the speech, they included the dropped g's. Watch and see if you agree.....

When Obama speaks normally, I don't think he drops his g's like a southerner. When he speaks to black audiences though, he tends to adopt the persona of his idea of a black preacher and he talks to his audience the way he thinks they talk. Should the AP have spell-checked his pronunciation in the transcript or did he do that on purpose and therefor it should have been written as he said it?

Was Einstein wrong about "c"?

Wow, if this is real....wow! Scientists sent muon neutrinos through the Earth from Switzerland, 732 kilometers down to a detector in Italy, but they arrived too soon. That is, they arrived 20billionths of a second faster than the speed of light....a theoretical impossibility and the cornerstone of modern physics. And they did this 16,000 more times as the stupefied scientists repeated the experiment.

What does it mean you ask? Who knows? Maybe time travel has become slightly more possible if the results hold. Perhaps light-speed space travel could propel man to distant planets whose civilizations we could destroy in order to rape their planet of natural resources and colonize their home. Or perhaps even the gravity field around Michael Moore might not bend space-time so much after all. Whatever, I'm interested in the final assessment of this discovery.

Craig's List scammer had better get up earlier than that

So I've started making rustic furniture out of recycled pallets. You'd be amazed as I was, at the quality of wood some companies use for pallets. Anyway, I made this coffee table and listed it on Craig's List for $200. Some dude named Ander Joeson offered to buy it. He says to expect today a certified check for 10 times the amount and his request that I take my $200 and send the balance by Western Union to some address. Supposedly his secretary mistakenly made it out for too much.

I guess the scam is that I'm supposed to deposit the check into my personal account, then wire the $1800 to him before the check bounces. If there weren't people that stupid I guess they wouldn't be attempting to scam us, but seriously who falls for that?

PC idiocy in Kansas

Feminists at Kansas State, the smug, self-appointed arbiters of what hurts the feelings of others at that school, whined about the school's unofficial slogan "Every Man A Wildcat" not being inclusive enough for chicks....

From KansasCity.com -- MANHATTAN, Kan.(AP) -- A 1950s-era slogan meant to inspire Kansas State fans is instead causing controversy.

University officials asked the school's band to remove a formation highlighting the slogan "Every Man a Wildcat" from its pregame routine on Saturday.

Those who dislike the slogan say the word "man" is not inclusive. They prefer "Every Person a Wildcat."

Well of course spineless school officials caved into the bleating demands of feminist harpies. Academics always do. Apparently none of these academics representing the university were English professors or they would have recognized that when used in a global  or school-wide context, the term "man" is gender neutral....

At Dictionary.com, the definition of the global, or school-wide in this case, "man" is -  a member of the species Homo sapiens or all the members of this species collectively, without regard to sex.

When is someone finally going to stand up to the self-appointed P.C. police and tell them to take a hike?

Is it real, or photoshopped?

Here's a picture taken directly from the Getty Images website, of Chairman Zero after a meeting with other world leaders at the UN. Bizarrely he decided to wave like an attention-craving teenager taking a family picture at the beach for that year's Christmas card.

"Love me! Adore me! Love me!"

Now, it still might be a photoshopped image, but I borrowed this from the Getty Images website and they are as reputable as there is. Perhaps they are punking us bloggers into embarrassing ourselves, but I doubt it. If it's real, while hilarious, it's another glaring example of Obama's self-centered belief that he's the only person in the room that matters.

Nothing screams, "I'm guilty as hell" like pleading the 5th

Shady Solyndra executives will be pleading the 5th this week when they sit before a congressional hearing on improprieties, if not illegalities, connected with their securing  and misuse of $535million in federal loan guarantees craftily doled out to them by the Obama administration. Solyndra promptly went bankrupt and out of business and nobody can find the money.

I'd plead the 5th too if I was a Solyndra executive, transfer all that money to off-shore accounts, and then buy a one-way ticket to Grand Cayman. Somebody should probably confiscate their passports.

Solyndra executives made numerous visits to the white house in the days leading up to the guarantee so the Obama administration is sweating bullets over what these crooks might say if they decide to snitch to investigators. Bizarrely, the administration is trying to beat a 30Sept deadline and fork over another $9billion in ill-gotten stimulus cash to other shady "green" companies.

If George Bush's administration had this kind of Chicago-style corruption, the media would be calling already for an impeachment hearing or certainly for him to step down and not run again. That they aren't with Obama is beyond astonishing and shows how utterly derelict they are in their jobs as government watchdogs.

See parents, WoW and Halo aren't that bad after all

You parents who swear daily at your lazy teen for playing too many online games should probably pipe down for a minute.....

From FoxNews -- In just three weeks, online gamers deciphered the structure of a retrovirus protein that has stumped scientists for over a decade, and a study out Sunday says their breakthrough opens doors for a new AIDS drug design.

The protein, called a protease, plays a critical role in how some viruses, including HIV, multiply. Intensive research has been underway to find AIDS drugs that can deactivate proteases, but scientists were hampered by their inability to crack the enzyme's structure.

Looking for a solution, researchers at the University of Washington turned to Foldit, a program created by the university a few years ago that transforms problems of science into competitive computer games, and challenged players to use their three-dimensional problem-solving skills to build accurate models of the protein.

Hilariously, the people at whom the educated class look down their noses, solved in 3 weeks a serious medical problem, the answer to which eluded PhD's and MD's for 10 years.

Online gamers are the antithesis of higher education in a similar way that hackers are the antithesis of corporate ladder climbing, yet the gamers and hackers can teach a thing or two to the conformists who have nothing but contempt for them. How satisfying!

Flaming death from above

1:3200. Those are the odds of getting crushed in a fiery, compacting death by one of 26 pieces of the UARS(Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite) orbiter as it falls out of its orbit later this week, breaks up, and plunges to Earth. It was sent up 20 years ago to find the mythical ozone hole, but since that was a joke, it's just been wandering around upper Earth orbit till the gas ran out.

As with Skylab back in 1979, NASA scientists haven't a clue where or even precisely when it'll come down, but it could hit people, and I doubt your home's roof could slow down a 1-ton piece of flaming, white-hot metal traveling at terminal velocity with your name on it.

So good luck faithful readers. Keep your eye on the sky and your body safely buried in an underground fallout shelter if you have one.

The question of Palestinian statehood

So the Palestinians want their own nation state? The entirety of the EU and the Obama administration are frantically trying to prevent a UN vote on the matter, despite the fact that Obama was for a Palestinian state as recently as a year ago. Supposedly their objection to Palestinian statehood is that it will derail the fragile, ongoing peace process with Israel.

What peace process? Since the creation of Israel in 1948, there has never been so much as a hint of peace in the middle east. It's not the number one wish for air-headed pageant contestants for nothing. There will never be peace in the middle east so long as a non-Muslim nation exists as a neighbor to Muslim/Arab nations.

I suspect, as you probably do as well, that Obama's objection to statehood has far less to do with his convictions about the peace process as it does with his desire to retain as many Jewish voters as possible for 2012. Obama is hemorrhaging democrat voters like the Deep Water Horizon hemorrhaged crude oil in the Gulf and jumping into the middle of the most contentious issue of our time by choosing sides will not help him get re-elected. He'd much rather punt the issue and not take a side at all. To Obama, this is considered leadership.

Would it really be the end of the world if the Palestinians had their own land to call a nation? It would certainly take away their excuse for being an unproductive, mindless rabble of terrorists. And if they continue to attack Israeli civilians, Israel would be within its rights under UN rules to defend itself without criticism. Plus, it yanks the rug out from under every nations reason to condemn Israel at every turn. It's always about the poor, put-upon Palestinians and how they're mistreated by Israel. Without that, what're they going to condemn Israel for?

At this point, not allowing a vote or a veto by the US will probably lead to mass protests and violence anyway, but the Palestinians don't need much of an excuse to riot.....it's what they do.

Who's interested in Danish politics for a change?

This is Denmark's newly elected Premier, Helle Thorning-Schmidt. If every country elected a female President who's this easy on the eyes, lots more people would pay attention to politics.

I realize she has a center-left ideology, but who cares? It's Denmark.

White House launches idiotic, tattle-tale website

Earlier this week the Obama administration, in full campaign mode now, launched a fascist-like, tattle-tale website that has already become the laughing stock of the Internet in just a few short days. It's called AttackWatch and essentially it provides to critics an administration approved outlet to lampoon Obama. They don't dare take it down, that would look even worse. Click on the link and sign up so you can join the fun by alerting Obama to critical goings-on around the country that he should know about....heh heh.

DHS touts its successes ferreting out terrorism at airports

The Department of Homeland Security has released this helpful chart to show Americans how they've kept us safe in the ten years since 9/11.....

There's a reason the TSA as administered by the DHS is a national laughing stock. It's because stuff like this is pretty close to being true.

Palestinians should be careful what they wish for

Next Friday the UN may vote on Palestinian statehood despite efforts by the US to prevent it with threats of cutting off altogether, aid money to the Palestinians. Turkey and other Arab/Muslim nations are encouraging the vote, and Israel is certainly against it, but is it a good idea for the Palestinians?
As it stands, the Palestinians enjoy the praise of dopey ex US Presidents like Jimmy Carter, Hollywood nitwits, and every dictator and violent jihadist on Earth. The poor, put-upon Palestinians are cast as the peace-loving victims of Israeli aggression and war crimes, never mind that the Palestinians always start the fighting with terrorism, Israel just finishes it.

If made a voting member of the UN by being awarded statehood, the US has already said it would escalate dramatically tensions in the region and because statehood is outside the official peace process, we would cut off all aid to the Palestinian Authority as well as funding for any UN functions associated with Palestinian statehood. That's bad for the mindless rabble of Palestinians who depend heavily on aid since their only productive activities is hating Israel and shooting rockets randomly at Israeli civilian targets.

Furthermore, once they are a state they lose the relative protection of claimed victim hood and Israel could destroy them without as much condemnation from the Jew-hating UN. That's also bad for them.

Finally, other Arab nations in the region would expect them to behave as a nation, not as they have for 60 years as a loose collection of nomadic terrorists, without a discernible economy, laws, or national identity other than the collective hatred of Israel. Even American democrats like Hillary Clinton recognize that statehood would be bad for Palestinians as they are wholly incapable of operating as anything resembling a functioning state. They're better suited to be refugee-camp denizens. Harsh, but true.

People should not be props for politicians

POSTED BY BILL

This picture offends me, not because I object to what Obama is saying - and I do - but because I am sick and tired of politicians using "ordinary people" as props for their speeches.  They are forced to stand for hours, looking awkward or bored, and cannot move.  Who knows why they are there or whether or not they support what is being said?

I might note that I served as such a prop for President Bush right after 9/11/01 when he spoke in Atlanta.   They gathered a lot of us firefighters, police officers, and military to serve as the background for his speech.  At the time, I didn't mind it, and still can see the point in such a solemn occasion.  But now, it's become standard that just about every speech by a president will include human props in the background - people who may or may not agree with what is being said but are made to appear to endorse it.

It's especially disgusting when uniformed people are forced to appear to endorse political speech.  Obama's "Jobs Bill" speech included uniformed police and fire officers as props.  Did the taxpayers who support these departments get any say in this?  Of course not.  I might add that military members in uniform are specifically forbidden to engage in political activity - unless of course they are ordered to so engage on occasions such as presidential speeches.  The president should speak to the troops - not away from them as they stare at his back.

It's time to end this practice of treating citizens of this nation as political props.  Only true supporters of whatever politician is speaking should "stand behind" him or her on such occasions.
