“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Sherri Shepherd is a dopey racist

Reviewing the Royal Wedding on The View, co-host Sherri Shepherd stupidly asked, "Where're the black people"?

Funny, I ask the same question about white people when I watch the NBA. I wonder how many white people Sherri saw at the last black wedding she attended? Hypersensitive, black celebrities always take offence when they perceive blacks to be under-represented in a white crowd, but it's OK when blacks are vastly over-represented in pro sports, violent crimes, and talking in theaters.

Human vanity must be the biggest market in the world

Shakespeare is widely misquoted as having said, "Vanity, thy name is woman". Hamlet actually said, "Frailty, thy name is woman". Regardless, the male obsession with baldness makes men the most vain of creatures.....

From Arcamax -- WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a machine that combines a computer, a robotic arm, imaging technology and other devices to fight hair loss.

The Artas System is positioned over the man's scalp, to identify and "harvest" follicular units from the side and back of the head. The follicular units are stored until they are implanted into the patient's recipient area using manual techniques, Medical News Today reported.

Artas System officials say is a quicker and less invasive system that can improve hair extraction rates to 750 to 1,000 units an hour.

Would you sit in this contraption and let a robot pluck up to 1,000 "follicular units" from your head every hour? This is easy for me to say since I have a full head of hair, but at some point don't we just have to accept that we age and try to do it as gracefully as we can? Taking vitamins, exercising, staying hydrated, and the occasional minor procedure are typical methods for preserving youth, but some things just go too far. I guess it's subjective as to what's considered "too far".

Hat tip to regular reader Billy for the heads-up.

Reporter gets banned for reporting

Obama's promise that his would be the most transparent administration ever would be hilarious if it wasn't so blatantly a lie. In San Francisco yesterday, The Chronicle’s Carla Marinucci used the video capability on her cell phone to record a group of protesters at an Obama fund raiser and was unceremoniously banned from the room. She will no longer be allowed to cover Obama as a member of the "print pool", a small group of reporters that represent the larger press at small venues. No administration officials will comment on the matter, not even the hapless, in-over-his-head Jay Carney.

You'd think the rest of the media would be howling their own protests, but they have so much personally invested in the success of the first black President that even they will allow him to abuse one of their own. Reprehensible!

Drudge pokes a little fun at Alabama

Here's the headline that caught my eye this morning on Drudge.....

SORRY, AL: Tornadoes whipped up by wind, not 'climate change'...

SORRY AL? I realize many people think Alabama is primitive and uneducated, and we may not have many insufferable, phony, north-east elitists in our midst, but we're smart enough to know that man-made climate change is a hoax. Nobody down here with any sense is blaming climate change for the tornadoes, unless it's our dopey weather-men who may or may not buy into the global warming charade. Normal people down here do not.

UPDATE: Ok, it's been brought to my attention by alert reader Bill, that perhaps Matt Drudge was poking fun of Al Gore instead of Alabama. That would make more sense. The reason I thought it was the state and not Gore was because both letters are caps. But there's no period after the AL, so it could go either way. I'd like to think Drudge was mocking Al Gore, heaven knows he deserves it.

South Carolina calls Amazon.com's bluff.....and loses

I thought South Carolina was smarter than this....

From McClatchyDC -- Amazon all but told South Carolina goodbye Wednesday after the online retailer lost a legislative showdown on a sales tax collection exemption it wants to open a distribution center that would bring 1,249 jobs to the Midlands.

Company officials immediately halted plans to equip and staff the one million-square-foot building under construction at I-77 and 12th Street near Cayce.

“As a result of today’s unfortunate House vote, we’ve canceled $52 million in procurement contracts and removed all South Carolina fulfillment center job postings from our (Web) site,” said Paul Misener, Amazon vice president for global public policy.

The story said that a coalition including tea-party activists had succeeding in stopping legislation that allowed corporate tax rates for Amazon. That doesn't make any sense....tea party activists in favor of taxes?

As I understand supply-side economics, which isn't very well, it holds that when you cut tax rates across the board, more people have jobs and pay taxes and have money to spend in the economy. This economic activity and employment counter intuitively increases tax revenues to the feds because the additional income, sales, FICA, etc taxes paid by employed citizens is greater than the corporate taxes given up in tax breaks, less the unemployment compensation and welfare payments to otherwise unemployed citizens.

I'm surprised and disappointed that South Carolina only saw the short-term tax revenues they could extort from Amazon rather than the greater, long-term benefits of 1300 more people employed by giving Amazon a tax break.

If Amazon would like to relocate elsewhere, take a look at Alabama. We've given Mercedes Benz, Kia, and Honda tax breaks to locate here. We'd love to give Amazon the same deal if South Carolina won't.

Obama personally affected by Tornado-Wednesday

I'm getting a little tired of people accusing the President of being an aloof, arugula-munching elitist. He is personally touched and involved in the lives of regular Americans and like us regular folks, he's certainly not immune to the fickle whims of violent weather. While 240 southerners lost their lives in tornadoes Wednesday, President Obama wrung his hands with worry when he heard that a tornado had touched down at Andrews Air Force base, uncomfortably near to his favorite golf course.

See, who says the President is out of touch with the common man?

Jimmy Carter still fighting for "worst President" title

Up until the media installed a two-bit, street-corner pamphleteer from Chicago into the US presidency, Jimmy Carter was widely considered the worst President, and worst ex-President, in all our lifetimes. Proving that you can never keep a bad liberal down for long, Carter keeps fighting for the title.....

From FoxNews -- Carter also used his trip to North Korea to observe the country’s food rationing system. That the United States and South Korea have chosen “to deliberately withhold food aid to the North Korean people because of political or military issues not related is really indeed a human rights violation,” he said.

What an utter embarrassment Jimmy Carter is as an ex-President! There is no brutal, murdering, despotic dictator to whom JC won't grovel with criticism of his own country. Isn't it about time for him to stop clinging to the world stage for attention and go quietly away to die already?

The Tuscaloosa tornado, up close and personal

Here's some raw footage of the EF-5 tornado that leveled Tuscaloosa yesterday. That's about an hour west of Birmingham where I am. There were 131 confirmed deaths yesterday and a few dozen others are still missing.

Lindsay Lohan gets the business from Taiwanese animators

I don't have a clue why the judge sentenced LiLo to perform community service at womens' shelters and the LA Country morgue. What could Lohan possibly have to teach single, homeless women about life unless it's how not to live it? And the morgue? What's up with that? Either way, you knew the Taiwanese animators would be all over this one.....

Hat tip to my friend Pat over at Belchspeak for the clip.

America's decline is Obama's design

Well, I hope all you Obama voters who heard him say that under his energy plan energy prices would necessarily sky-rocket, are happy. Looks like there's no end in sight to the cost of energy....

From FoxNews -- Shell Oil Company has announced it must scrap efforts to drill for oil this summer in the Arctic Ocean off the northern coast of Alaska. The decision comes following a ruling by the EPA’s Environmental Appeals Board to withhold critical air permits. The move has angered some in Congress and triggered a flurry of legislation aimed at stripping the EPA of its oil drilling oversight.

Shell has spent five years and nearly $4 billion dollars on plans to explore for oil in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The leases alone cost $2.2 billion.

All four members of the EPA board are radical environmentalists rather than garden-variety bureaucrats. This means that they are nothing but a rubber stamp for whatever economy-crushing measures with which Obama wants to harm the country.

The air permit that Shell forgot to submit was for the emissions from the ice-breaker Shell used to get up to that God-forsaken part of Earth. Under Obama's direction no doubt, this board is nitpicking every detail to prevent any, ANY petroleum exploration from taking place in the US. No more drilling in the Gulf, no exploration on US land, and now no more drilling in the ocean near Alaska either. There's so little oil being pumped up there that the Alaskan Pipeline might have to shut down.

Obama's making good on his promise to fundamentally transform America.....he's transforming it into a slouching, second-rate, moribund country. But that was his intention all along. You can't grow up surrounded for three decades by men who hate America, who think America got rich off the backs of poor countries, and who think America deserves to be taken down a few notches as punishment for being rich and successful, and not believe the same thing.

Newest sniper rifle to be deployed in Afghanistan

I want one of these....

From ArmyTimes -- The XM2010 sniper rifle is making a name for itself in Afghanistan. Officials won’t say how many are there or where they are. But at the time of the Sept. 20 contract, officials said the first 250 rifles would be ready by early December and sent directly to Afghanistan.

No matter how many are there, this is clear: The weapon’s performance has been strong enough to warrant full fielding.

The effective range of this weapon is 1200meters with a .300 magnum, high-velocity round. If you haven't watched any sniper shots on Youtube, you should. Incredible!

I loved being a weapons loader in the Georgia Air Nat'l Guard for 16 years, but if I could go back, knowing what I know now, and choose any military job, it would be sniper. How awesome would it be to see a terrorist's head explode like a melon into pink mist 4 seconds after you fire your shot? Unbelievably awesome! That's how awesome.

Republican treachery

With the 2010 census being complete, the House committee on apportionment is busy redrawing the district lines in states who have lost or gained seats. Any normal person would assume that since Republicans control the House, they would tend to redraw the lines to increase the chances of more republican gains in 2012. But "normal" doesn't describe old-school republicans. It seems the committee is populated by veteran republicans who want to protect their own seats and those seats held by their old-school buddies. So they are intentionally redrawing the lines to make sure tea party winners from 2010 lose their seats.

They are so angry and resentful that voters kicked out a lot of their RINO(republican in name only) buddies in favor of young, idealistic conservatives, that they'd rather get rid of tea-party members than get rid of more democrats.

Boehner and Cantor had better nip this sort of thing in the bud or they might find themselves out of a job. As soon as I figure out who is on the redistricting committee, I'll publish the names and call for them to be targeted in 2012. Voters can play that game too.

Dick "the Turban" Durbin wants your money

Illinois democrat Dick Durbin apparently never met a tax he didn't like. In an effort to skim even more money from already swamped taxpayers, Tricky Dick will propose a national Internet sales tax....

From Hotair -- As early as this week, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) told The Post he will propose sweeping legislation to tax all online purchases — in a move aimed at closing state budget shortfalls.

As it stands now, online retailers and customers only pay sales taxes on Internet purchases from businesses who reside in their state or larger Internet businesses who have outlets in that state. The larger retailers such as Amazon, Overstock, and others who don't have physical outlets in most states don't pay state sales taxes, therefor those savings can be passed on to customers. "Not so fast", says Durbin. He is driving businesses out of his state and inviting Internet businesses to boycott Illinois by placing a sales tax on all Internet transactions in which the point of purchase is in Illinois. And because his state is hemorrhaging jobs, he wants to make that rule apply to the entire country, just to make it fair.

Democrats are like bookies. They cannot tolerate any, ANY transaction in America taking place that doesn't include them getting a cut of the action. That's why the barter system of economy is making a comeback at the local level. What an awful person Dick Durbin is!

Sex in space.....nyet!

Can somebody explain why this is even a story....

From MyFoxDC -- MOSCOW - Russian cosmonauts never had sex in space during the 50 years of human exploration of the cosmos, and rumors about secret sexual experiments were myths, the Interfax news agency reported Friday.

Rumors have persisted for years of secret Russian and American programs to test the effects of weightlessness on sex, but these were always strongly denied by both sides.

Who cares if astronauts have had sex in space or not? Honestly, I'd be disappointed if they haven't. I assume they have, either officially or unofficially. I mean who wouldn't want to have sex in space if you had the opportunity? What a stupid issue!

The faces of Big Labor in America

If you think labor unions are about any thing except increasing union bosses' power, you're an idiot!

The National Right to Work Bill is being circulated around the House this month. It wouldn't prevent the formation of labor unions, but it would prevent any union from coercing employees to join up. Thug union bosses want to be able to intimidate everybody into joining their union and in some states they can do just that. Not coincidentally, these are the same states which are depressed and losing industry by the dozens each year. Also not coincidentally, right-to-work states like all southern states are enjoying those industries setting up shop down here where they can do business at the market rate rather than hyper-inflated union rates.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is no place for labor unions in America any more. Workplaces are plenty safe and employment laws prevent discrimination or unfair firing practices. The only purpose of unions is to enrich and empower the thug bosses like Bob Trumpka and Bob King by extorting dues from members who were coerced into joining.

They stay in power by bribing soulless politicians like Obama into making laws that protect their extortion racket. Unions are unAmerican and bad for the economy.

Real life imitates fiction

You liberals think Atlas Shrugged is fanciful nonsense, that government doesn't meddle unnecessarily in the dealings of the market. You think the government regulates only for safety and fairness reasons, never to benefit favored businesses by stifling competition. No, our benevolent leaders are more honorable than that. Atlas Shrugged is pure conservative hogwash. That could never happen in America. Well, think again....

Boeing decided to relocate a plant from Washington state to South Carolina where the labor environment is far friendlier than union-corrupted Puget Sound. 4 labor strikes since 1989 have cost Boeing billions in revenue and put the jet manufacturer at a distinct competitive disadvantage. Not so fast! The National Labor Relations Board - a government regulatory agency- stepped in and filed a law suit against Boeing on behalf of the union thugs who found themselves not only without absurdly high-paying jobs, but without jobs altogether. The NLRB wants to legally prevent Boeing from manufacturing airplanes in SC and force them to build the plant, originally planned for Washington, in Washington.

In Nashville, the city council mandated that limo drivers charge no less than $45 per fare, when the limo market, because of competition, had a minimum of $25. The big limo association clearly has the city council in its pocket and had them regulate the little limo companies out of the market. If the small limo businesses had deep pockets and thought of it first, they could have bribed the council too and protected their businesses the way the big limo businesses did.

Hey liberal, tell me again how government isn't getting into the private business of the market by picking winners and losers depending on how politically favored each is.

Atlas is already shrugging, dumb liberal.

It pays to be Jeffery Immelt

Obama's best corporate friend, GE CEO Jeffery Immelt, must be spending a lot of time on his knees under Obama's oval office desk lately. GE profits jumped 77% in the last quarter yet GE doesn't pay taxes on most of it. Friends of Obama get clever tax credits for being "green" by building stupid compact fluorescent bulbs, even stupider wind turbines, and "efficient" washing machines and dryers. Because of the tax credits awarded specifically to GE by Obama, that company's effective corporate tax burden is 0. You'd think the big oil companies would wise up and start pouring money into democrats' campaigns. Then they could enjoy special protection from The One also.

And all this time I thought Obama hated the evil rich. But I guess when the evil rich are pouring cash by the buckets into your campaign chest, you look the other way.

Funniest clip of stupid hippies you'll see all day

If you don't watch any other video clip today, be sure to check this one out. These are by far the stupidest, eco-hippie, derelicts I've ever had the pleasure of ridiculing....

That one guy must have no less than three colonies of insects living his beard alone....plus assorted remnants of previous vegan meals....heh heh.

Uh oh.....Egypt and Iran are teaming up

Who didn't see this coming?

From WSJ -- CAIRO—Iran and Egypt's new government signaled Monday they were moving quickly to thaw decades of frosty relations, worrying the U.S., Israel and Saudi Arabia that the overtures could upset the Mideast's fragile balance of power.

Iran said it appointed an ambassador to Egypt for the first time since the two sides froze diplomatic relations more than three decades ago.

Can we finally, once and for all, stop sending billions in aid to Egypt? By embracing a relationship with Iran, Egypt no longer qualifies for aid from the US taxpayer. But I'm sure they'll enjoy our continued charity and handouts as they plot with the likes of Achmadinejad to harm us.

Our image abroad

Seriously, the authorities need to get a grip on this sort of thing in the US.....

From Telegraph -- James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, were in Florida when they were killed at 3am in a gangland area rarely visited by tourists.

They apparently accepted a lift from someone they met in a bar, thinking they were being driven home

To people in other countries who're thinking of visiting the US as tourists, we look like a third-world waste-land of lawlessness and violence. It's probably safer to visit Beirut than south Florida. Good grief!

If this was as suspected, a gang initiation, was it simple murder, or was it to murder white people? If so, will Eric Holder get involved because this crime fits the definition of a hate-crime? Don't hold your breath on that one.

Trump's potential candidacy

I'm sure you've heard folks like Karl Rove, Dana Perino, Krauthammer, and other conservatives dismiss Donald Trump as a joke candidate and publicity hound and not fit to be President. Trump's polling numbers are very high but there's still a long time to the election. Lots can change in 18 months.

One thing that is likely not to change is the moribund state of the US economy. President Obama isn't likely to do anything positive to fix it because a weakened, hamstrung America in decline fits into his world view. Trump, on the other hand, is a business man and who better to fix money problems than a take-no-prisoners business man?

Sure, he's not a skeevy lawyer like most politicians. Nor is he politically ambitious to the point of being craven like most politicians. He's just a highly successful business man. Why is the idea of a Trump presidency any more preposterous than the presidency of a race-hustling, two-bit, street-corner pamphleteer? It's far less preposterous if you ask me. At least Trump has plenty of real-world experience creating wealth and jobs. What did Obama do before politics? He agitated the entitlement class in Chicago after skating through law school on what was probably an affirmative-action scholarship. We'll never know because he's sealed all his records.

The old-school pundits prefer the traditional next-in-line candidates to run because they are comfortable bashing them because they are a known item. Trump wouldn't care what they said. His apathy toward the media would enrage them. And that alone would be worth his being President for me.

All I'm saying is before you dismiss the idea of a Trump presidency, tell me what career politician in the field of GOP hopefuls is better suited for the job of economic recovery at hand? Remember, they're all politicians which means they are liars and cheats.

Atlas Shrugged opens in selected theaters today

The only thing that has enjoyed more record sales because of Obama's absurd presidency than copies of Atlas Shrugged, is hand guns. That's because the same people who understand the power of the 2nd amendment also understand the inherent threat of an intrusively large government that punishes production and rewards failure.

The objectivist ideals embodied in Atlas strike blows against nanny-state collectivism in exactly the same way a .357 slug strikes a blow against an intruder to your home.

If you haven't read Atlas, go out and get a copy today before you see the movie.

More fun in Gaza

Remind me what we're trying to accomplish in the God-forsaken litter box that is Gaza?

From DailyMail -- A peace activist has been found hanged in an abandoned house in the Gaza Strip just hours after he was paraded on YouTube by his abductors.
Vittorio Arrigoni, 36, was blindfolded and had been badly beaten before the broadcast. A hand was seen pulling his head up by his hair to face the camera.

Let's see, we have Al-Qaeda terrorists terrorizing Hamas terrorists by slaughtering a European peace activist in Gaza who is pro-Palestinian? Makes sense to me.

Competing terrorist groups in Gaza, yet we keep funneling money to help the poor bedraggled Palestinians. Why don't the other Arab states, who pretend to care so much about the plight of the expatriated Palestinians, chip in to help out once in a while. I'll tell you, because they need the Palestinians to be as restless and downtrodden as possible so they can use it as a club with which to bash Israel and a pretext for continued attacks.

Finally, the merciful end of the road in America for Miley Cyrus

I haven't done any fun-poking at ditsy Hollywood tarts lately so here's my obligatory Miley Cyrus post. Apparently she's not "feeling the love" from Americans right now....

From FoxNews -- "I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not. Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me."

Heh heh, maybe it's that Americans have finally grown tired of an over hyped, barely talented, drug-addled airhead who thinks way more of herself and her singing abilities than others do. Thanks goodness for our has-been pop stars that other countries consume our pop culture after it's run its course here or dopey performers like Miley Cyrus wouldn't have careers by the time they reach 25. Well, that's if you don't include the soft porn industry which is where I've predicted she's headed about 5 minutes after her popularity in Europe wanes.

RMS Titanic: metaphor for US economy

Today marks the 99th anniversary of the ironic sinking of the Titanic after her crew bragged that she was unsinkable. This cavalier attitude is embodied in Pres. Obama's belief that no amount of government taxing and spending can sink the US economy. How wrong he is! We've almost reached the limit of how much money can be siphoned out of the economy in order to pay for wasteful and needless bureaucrats by the tens of thousands to push pencils pointlessly around their desks in DC.

Unless we dramatically reform Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, plus get out of our three wars in the middle east, the "titanic" US economy that every body thinks is unsinkable is headed straight for the iceberg of insolvency. How's that for a metaphor?

Obama: Americans harbor subconscious desire to be taxed more

Yesterday in his pathetic tax-the-rich budget speech, Obama alluded to his belief that people harbor secret desires to be taxed even more than we are already....

"They[Americans] want to give back to the country that's done so much for them."

First of all, let's not use the phrase "give back". Most of America's productive class have earned what they have. We have not been given anything, so paying taxes isn't giving back. It's just plain giving.

Secondly, the "less fortunate" tag, and on whose behalf Obama raises taxes, implies that life's successes and failures are randomly assigned. That good decision making, responsibility, and diligence don't have anything to do with successes and that dereliction, laziness, and ineptitude don't have anything to do with failures. Life is a lottery to Obama and it's unfair that some succeed while others fail, therefore that unfairness has to be corrected by taking from the successful and giving to the failed.

Further more, the people whose successes Obama wants to punish most, the top 1% of earners, already bear 38% of the federal tax burden while the "less fortunate", the bottom 50% only pay 3% of federal taxes collected. The successful are already carrying the failed, by a huge margin.

This budget speech was just more class-warfare and socialism...nothing more.

When liberals prosecute a war, bad things happen

How do you tell a mother that her son was slaughtered by a terrorist in a dirty night-shirt because he wasn't allowed to kill the terrorist first?

From WashingtonExaminer -- Several Taliban detainees who had been captured in February after being observed placing bombs in the culverts of roads used by civilians and military convoys near Kandahar were fed, given medical treatment, then released by American troops frustrated by a policy they say is forcing them to kick loose enemies who are trying to kill them.

This is what happens when dumb, military-hating liberals prosecute a war. You get stupid rules of engagement where we medicate, feed, and release our enemies with nice parting gifts.

I swear, I am more convinced now than ever that we need to pull completely out of Afghanistan and Iraq with haste and nuke 'em from orbit. If our military can't kill the enemy as the enemy tries to kill them, why are we there? This is pure and utter insanity! With rules of engagement like this, can anybody justify our continued presence there?

If I find out that these ROE's were put in place under Bush, then I will have lost all, ALL respect I ever had for him.

Tax Freedom Day

Today is Tax Freedom Day. This is the day on which the average American who pays taxes(remember the bottom 49% of wage earners pay virtually no taxes when you take into account what most of them receive in tax payer funded benefits and allowances) has finally paid off his/her federal, state, and local tax burden and is working for himself at long last.

Of the 51% of Americans who support the other 49% through the taxes that are confiscated from us by cackling politicians, we'll spend more in taxes in 2011 than we'll spend on food, clothing, and housing combined. I said COMBINED! Remember how unfairly our industriousness and productivity is treated by politicians whenever you go the polls, regardless of how insignificant you think the election is.

Assigned reading

Over at Townhall, John Hawkins, author of RightWingNews and Linkiest, has a terrific article about what a bankrupt America will likely look like and how it'll affect you directly. For all you ostriches who'd rather look the other way and pretend that our benevolent overlords in government will always provide for us no matter how bad the economy gets, rather than face the awful truth about profligate government spending, what do you think happens when our overlords don't have any money to dole out to you and you can't provide for yourselves?

Katie Couric explains her failures by blaming others

This is what Katie Couric thinks of your refusal to watch her mad teleprompter skills every night....

Tiresome news reader Katie Couric has had an epiphany regarding her dismal ratings as anchor of the CBS evening news. Why, she blames the local affiliates of course.....

From TVWeek -- Katie Couric is hinting that she knows why her CBS “Evening News” telecast has struggled in the ratings. In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, Couric indicates the reason for her third-place finish among evening news broadcasts might have something to do with the local news lead-in on CBS stations.

It probably never occurred to Katie Cupcake that it was a combination of her obviously liberal slant to the news delivery business and the availability of balanced news outlets that led to her embarrassing demise at CBS. And the absurdity of her demand for $13million a year to read a teleprompter for 22 minutes a night was completely lost on her. Liberals never accept responsibility for their own failures. They blame others as if conspired against when the fault is entirely their own.

Government Motors cars are living down to our expectations

Be careful when you're driving smugly down the highway and you go to use the steering wheel in your brand-new Chevy Cruze made by Government Motors. This is what you just might see.

Apparently the steering wheels of these stupid cars have been falling off during operation. Sound hilarious to me, that is until somebody gets hurt.

But what do you expect when you hire lazy, scandalously overpaid, union thugs to build cars for you? They have no incentives to build quality cars because no matter how badly the company fails, craven democrats will be there to bail them out again with billions seized from taxpayers.

I swear, if you are dumb enough to buy ANY GM or Chrysler vehicle, you may deserve to have the steering wheel fall off in your hands at 70mph.

Feminism: because not everyone can be beautiful

There was a sexism dust-up at the Masters yesterday when a security guard inadvertently denied locker-room access to a female reporter who wanted to interview Rory McElroy after his round. It was an honest mistake and Augusta National has apologized, but it reminded me of insufferable feminist Martha Burke's gender-discrimination protest at August back in 2003. This is the hilarious picture from her protest "march" outside the grounds. In every crowd of serious, self-righteous protesters, there's always one joker who knows how to have a little fun by exposing the protesters as the meddlesome harpies they are....heh heh.

a shutdown forces useless bureaucrats to confront their own uselessness

Over at Politico Meredith Shiner has a good article on the office morale problems that are caused when congress members must designate their employees as either "essential" or "non-essential" when it comes to shutting down the government.

When it comes to cutting the budget, shouldn't these non-essential people be the first ones on the chopping block? I mean if there's ever at time to unload unnecessary bulk from our spending burden, this would be it. Keep the service personnel like janitors, lawn mowers, cafeteria workers, etc. They should start lopping off bureaucrats by the thousands from the regulatory agencies to begin with. None of them are essential nor do they produce any good or service. They exist to limit the liberties of productive Americans and little else. Give them all pink slips and say "good riddance".

Democrat Linda Sanchez unwittingly personifies what's wrong with Washington

With a government shutdown looming, most congress-critters are pledging to donate their paychecks during the shutdown to charity, in solidarity with those Hill staffers who're deemed "non-essential". California democrat Linda Sanchez has other ideas, however. She says that she lives paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to not get paid.

Let's see, she makes $174,000 a year and lives paycheck to paycheck.....sort of illustrates what's wrong with Washington in the first place doesn't it?

Libyan adventure: nothing but a turd hunt

This is what a Chinese fire drill this stupid NATO mission in Libya has become in just a week or two....

From FoxNews -- AJDABIYA, Libya -- Rebel fighters claimed NATO airstrikes blasted their forces Thursday in another apparent mistake that sharply escalated anger about coordination with the military alliance in efforts to cripple Libyan forces. At least two rebels were killed and more than a dozen injured, a doctor said.

We, the US, may or may not be on the ground in Libya. We may or may not be in charge of NATO logistics. We may or may not be flying sorties in support of rebels. We may or may not be killing the rebels with the bombs targeted to help them. We may or may not be arming rebels about whom we have almost no intelligence. We may or may not be committed to an extended third war by the absurd man-child sedulously installed by our media as President. And the rebels we are trying to help may or may not be terrorist who'll kill us if given half a chance in a year or two.

Does that about sum up the awesome military planning of our embarrassing President and the inexperienced theorists with which he's surrounded himself?

California voting patterns explained

This tidbit of news explains a lot.....

USC Researchers Say Pollution May Be Harming Our Brains

If nothing else this explains the bizarre voting habits of denizens of the land of fruits and nuts. And another thing, if Californians are pollution-addled zombies, perhaps they should not be allowed to vote at all in elections that affect everybody.

Obama hasn't a clue about war

It took NATO about 2 minutes after we ceased Libyan operations to realize that it is a paper tiger without the US military to do its dirty work....

From Guardian.UK -- Nato is running short of attack aircraft for its bombing campaign against Muammar Gaddafi only days after taking command of the Libyan mission from a coalition led by the US, France and Britain.

David Cameron has pledged four more British Tornado jets on top of eight already being used for the air strikes. But pressure is growing for other European countries, especially France, to offer more after the Americans withdrew their attack aircraft from the campaign on Monday.

"We will need more strike capability," a Nato official said.

What is wrong with the European arm of NATO that they cannot wage a simple air-to-ground campaign against the hapless, 19th century Libyan military? I thought NATO-Europe was the fighting force constructed to intimidate the Soviet Union from having designs on the European continent, no? I'll bet Putin is laughing his ass off right about now.

So, NATO is begging the US to get back in the game after only one day without us. What does Obama do? He promised a cessation of US fighting. He promised no troops on the ground, but the Libyan army looks like the rebels now so troops are an inevitability. What's an internationalist to do when he's caught between his promises to war-weary Americans and his slavish obeisance to the NATO community? Do we get back in the war or not?

Clearly, Obama doesn't have a clue what he's doing as President.

Excessive police force, or just about right?

National news outlets including Fox, are teasing this story with feigned outrage at police for spraying an 8 year old Colorado boy with pepper spray. If you are outraged too, read the story and then see if the cops were justified......

From 9News.com -- According to the report, Aidan "was climbing the cart and spitting at teachers. He also broke wood trim off the walls and was trying to stab teachers with it."

"I wanted to make something sharp if they came out because I was so mad at them," Aidan said. "I was going to try to whack them with it."

The report goes on to say Aidan, "was holding what looked like a sharpened one foot stick and he screamed, 'Get away from me you f---ers.'"

Lakewood Police officers ordered the 8-year-old to "drop the stick." When he refused, they sprayed him with pepper spray twice until he dropped the piece of wood and was handcuffed.

That kid is a serious psychopath who needs to be drugged, institutionalized, and forgotten. He and his idiot mother are lucky all he got was pepper-sprayed. They ought to throw the mother in the klink for teaching the kid how to properly use the F-word.

This is not the same angry boy, just a helpful picture of what an angry 8 year old might look like.

The boy wonder returns to the cash well one more time

That wee Timmy Geithner is begging for still more money illustrates perfectly the utter incompetence and moral bankruptcy of the Obama administration....

Squeaked the boy wonder as reported by Reuters -- "The longer Congress fails to act, the more we risk that investors here and around the world will lose confidence in our ability to meet our commitments and our obligations," Geithner said in a letter to congressional leaders.

"Default by the United States is unthinkable."

Previously, the Treasury had forecast that the $14.3 trillion statutory debt limit would be reached between April 15 and May 31. As of Friday, Treasury borrowing stood just $95 billion from the ceiling.

The notion of spending less money never entered the minds of these people. They are enriching their friends(and by "friends" I mean large campaign donors) with taxpayer money using the fear tactic of government default to extort the cash from Americans. It is unconscionable that these crooks are still at the wheel as we head toward the calamity of national economic collapse.

Obama leads by following

With troops loyal to the reigning dictator Saleh of Yemen, firing on and killing dozens of marchers demanding regime change, you'd have to be an MSNBC Obama shill not to wonder why we don't attack Yemen because those were the exact criteria we used to attack Libya. Moreover, the reasoning is that regime change in Yemen would give rise to a very powerful AQAP(Al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula), but Qaddafi is perhaps the most stridently anti-Al Qaida of all the Arabic dictators. When we demand regime change there for Qaddafi's human rights violations, aren't we giving Islamic extremists a golden opportunity at a foothold in an OPEC state?

The seemingly arbitrary nature by which the Obama administration chooses which Arabic countries to drop bombs on, illustrates what an indecisive, rank amateur he really is. He waits until there is an international consensus to finally "lead" on the issue.

Is Terry Jones to blame for the UN murders in response to his Koran burning?

You can't blame offensive speech for murders....

From Boston.com -- Kandahar, Afghanistan — Afghan protests over the burning of a Koran in Florida continued yesterday for a third day, with three more people killed here.

Tweet Be the first to Tweet this!Submit to DiggdiggsdiggYahoo! Buzz ShareThis That brought to 24 the number of people killed in Afghanistan since Friday, when a mob overran United Nations offices in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, killing seven UN international staff members.

Terry Jones is a publicity-hunting nutcase, but he's not responsible for these murders. You can't hold responsible a speaker of offensive speech for murders by illiterate savages half way around the world.

The first amendment is there specifically to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech doesn't need protection. If we limit or otherwise censor unpopular speech, then we don't have free speech by any body's definition. Speakers don't commit murder, murderers commit murder.

Geraldo makes war funny

If you want to see some funny war coverage, look no further than Jerry Rivers(Geraldo Rivera's real name) when he sniffs out a "fire fight" in the Libyan desert. [turn up your volume]

At the 33 second point, the rebels take off and leave Geraldo and his camera man in no-man's land....heh heh. He's dancing around like he doesn't know if the next bullet's coming from the Libyan army in front or the rebels shooting him in the ass from behind.

Something new from Charlie Tokyo

Scientists have taken steps toward actually creating a beating human heart in the lab....

This is pretty impressive. If they can take a donor heart and replace the functional cells with recipient cells so rejection is less of a problem, they may have gone a long way to solving the heart replacement problem and we can all live to be 150.
